Trudging through this marshland was growing difficult. Tikaani and her fox companion had been wandering around this swamp, trying to find ways to escape this place. But, they had gotten lost and were now searching for a suitable place to stay for the day. Kani's paws ached and were cold, as she had been walking through soggy wet moss and mud all day. Rama, the black fox, was sprawled on her back, legs hanging down on either side of her back. Kani had allowed him to hitch a ride only because it would have taken them longer to find a cave of some sort. Or sturdy ground.
Tikaani looked around, seeing endless trees, and endless swamp. She sighed softly and continued on her way, moving around a fallen log. There seemed to be no hope for them. They would have to sleep in the water logged moss again. "Rama, I fear we'll have to spend another night in the swamp. I see no shelter."
The black bat-eared fox opened one of his pure white eyes. He had no pupils as well as his wolf companion. "What I see, Tikaani, is your blindness." He let his head rest between her shoulders, "I had been sleeping, yet the second I open my eye my sight lays on a split tree in the distance. There should be a solid surface we can rest on." He got no reply from the wolf which made him smirk. He knew he was right, and he could tell because not a moment later, Tikaani headed toward the half tree. He clung to her back when she stumbled. "Watch it. We'll feed once we get up there." The sounded pleasant.
Tikaani silently agreed, and within a few minutes, she reached the tree. It was only a foot from the ground, but that was a foot up from being wet. The black wolf jumped up, the swampland creating a loud suction noise when it released her paws. She sat down and let Rama off her back. She watched him come around and sit in front of her. The two sat there for a moment, looking into each others white eyes. Kani opened her mouth, and Rama copied her. White smoke like stuff came out of both of their open maws and into the other one. This was their way of feeding off emotion, and since they were both bored, the smoke was white. The two sat in this trance, the smoke dancing around them before being inhaled into their mouths. It took but a minute until they both laid down, bellies full. Night was coming quick, and Rama snuggled under Kani's bushy tail. He fell asleep almost instantly, but Kani didn't. She liked to stay up until she could no longer see.

"This shit is annoying. I cannot believe I let myself walk into this muck."
The swamp was something that must creatures would find bothersome. The tone of this brute sounded violent, irritated and most of all, cold. Still, the colors surrounding it was beautiful. An illusion to the eye. They made this place seem more cheerful, though in reality, it was entirely dreadful. Huffing, the brute tried his best to work round the muck. Those muscles of his rippled underneath his midnight fur, like an ocean wave, while his thick blue mane that covered his head, neck and chest shimmered underneath the sunlight. Growls rumbled in his throat as he finally reached an adequate tree in the distance. Fairly small, he decided to use it more as a safety. Scents swirled in his nostrils, and his brain clicked as he tried to distinguish all the scents. Giving up, he trudged to the tree, and using his force, he pushed himself up against the tree. The wolf's claws that never retracted clutched the bark as he made his way up, and shifted so he was able to stand on a thick branch. Those golden hues gazed down at the muck, and he spat towards it. Nothing he hated more than his fur dirty; being presentable was a must in his priority list. Mother Nature did seem to get back at him at times, for being who he was; heartless, a monster, one who was cold and couldn't careless about much. He shook out his paws heavily, and his ears perked up, those blue tufts swaying in the light breeze. Nothing was around, as far as he could tell, and he could really careless if there was. It was a swamp; what could happen? Tikaani had the odd feeling she got when another wolf was present. She had begun to recognize this sensation as a bad one. Every time she had been around another of her species, she was mocked and tormented verbally. Once before a female wolf had the nerve to actually attack her because of her differences. She looked down at Rama, lost among her black fur. She decided not to wake him, but carefully got up and hopped off the log.
Kani started at a cautious walk, glancing back at the fox asleep on the half tree, before continuing on. She had the feeling the wolf would find her sooner or later, so she might as well get rid of the problem now instead of risking the chance she or her companion may be attacked. They would snap at the fox unless he was practically glued to her. They were used to being outcasts, the only ones that were different. Never had Kani come across another canine that was unique like her.
The closer she got, the stronger the scent got. By this time she had determined it was a male because of the musky smell. Naturally, she was attracted toward it, but in this case, she was on the defense. She wasn't going to fight the male, because she would most likely lose. Instead, she would locate him, and either speak to him, or find Rama and leave. She had multiple ways of pushing others away, only because none would accept her. In truth, Tikaani was a rather friendly, motherly type, but others have pounded it into her head that wolves were bad.
Tikaani stepped on top of a fallen log, getting relief from the suction ground. Her paws were wet and sore, nasty mud clinging to them. She lifted a paw and shook it violently, flinging the mud off. She sat on the log and scented the air again. She was close now, and it was then she saw him, up in a tree. Kani clamped her jaw shut in awe. He was different, like her! He was black and blue; his markings were handsome and captivating. The way he composed himself, just a simple laying pose, seemed to entrance Kani. Almost like she couldn't look away.
She blinked her pure white eyes and looked down at her paws, thinking. The black wolf lifted her head and perked her ears, letting out a single, feminine bark. Hopefully by the tone she used, she wouldn't come across as a threat. All she wanted to do was talk. She gave a tail wag and stood eagerly. Never had she come across another wolf that wasn't normal. This made her excited and she let out a willing whine, waiting to see if the male would approach.

The sounds in this swamp were... strange. Odd, rather. Creatures of among different types were throwing themselves out there, trying to captivate a mate or announcing their gossips too loudly. Those ears of his pricked in annoyance, and he did his best to ignore the wild creatures surrounding him. Huffing a bit, he started to close his eyes and lay his head upon his paws before he heard a bark.
Instantly, his golden hues shot open, shifting into narrow slits as directly located where the bark came from... and it was from a fae. A fae in the swamps? Ha, wasn't that a joke. Those orbs shone with hints of amusement, but it faded out as quick as it had come, and returned to its dull state.
The body language of the fae was... odd, also, like everything else in this swamp. The wag of her tail, the friendly bark, it was all... strange. He never encountered a wolf or any creature that let down their guard as easily as her, or somewhat of their guard. It was... intriguing, to say the least. Especially the willing whine, now that made everything that much more interesting.
"Well, since you seem so eager," he said loud enough for the fae to hear, his usual tone like icicles. With easy grace, the brute hopped off of the tree, his claws making it easy for him to slide off of the bark. The wolf landed in the mud-like waters, and a huff escaped his muzzle before he jumped onto a nice sized fallen log, a few hundred yards away from the fae.
"Why the interest, hm?"

“The only thing I find interesting in you is your color,” Tikanni replied with a taunting tone, tilting her head. “Never have I come across someone…different.” Her tone of voice wasn’t to act aggressive, but an almost playful taunt. It wasn’t often you saw other freaks like herself. What other word was there to use? Different and freak covered a vast range of subjects, and it wasn’t like normal wolves were blue.
Kani turned her head from the wolf and looked back to where she left Rama. She couldn’t see him, or the tree, and this worried her. What if that male had been traveling with others and they were stalking the poor fox? This made her lift her head and smell at the air again, trying to pick up any other smells. The only ones that came back was the strong musk smell the male gave off, the faint smell of her fox companion, and her own scent. After content with this fact, she turned her attention back to the blue wolf in front of her. “Tell me, dear sir, what are your intentions in these lands? You wouldn’t have foolishly wandered in here willingly?” She resumed the tone she used earlier and gave a mischievous smile, though she doubted he could see it from how far he was.

It wasn't often a creature replied back to him in any other tone but intimidation or curiosity. It sparked interest in him as her voice radiated in his ears.
“The only thing I find interesting in you is your color. Never have I come across someone…different.”
A chuckle rumbled in his throat, which made it seem more like a half hearted growl. "Different? Ah, yes, a shame I don't blend into this... rainbow muck." The brute delicately walked along the fallen log until he reached the edge, and leaped onto another that was floating a little away. His thick mane shook out and his eyes studied the fae. Hm, it seemed her body language made her... distracted. But for what? The brute did not know, and did not care enough to find out. “Tell me, dear sir, what are your intentions in these lands? You wouldn’t have foolishly wandered in here willingly?” The brute's claws clutched the log, keeping his balance to the word "foolishly." Foolishly? The fae did have a good taunt to him, and did keep him on his paw pads. "Interesting choice of words. The colors did a marvelous job distracting me from this... mud disaster." Again, a growl chuckle grumbled deep within his throat. The tip of his tail flicked a few times, and he continued. "You, however, seem a bit lost, and also... distracted. Did you leave company?" His hues glinted with carelessness, and his brain clicked as he registered her body language, memorizing her shifts and changes with her structure. Tikaani looked around the swamp, giving a slight nod. Yes, it did look like it could be solid ground, and there were many strange but beautiful plants that could pose a distraction long enough for one to wander too far into the marshland. The black wolf’s shoulders raised and dropped when she sighed, looking longingly back to where she left the fox. She turned back and twitched her ears at his response, lifting her head and giving him a look that read suspicion. “I do in fact have a companion that I shouldn’t stray too far from. We have no goal to accomplish and by mere curiosity did we end up here.”
Tikaani had no reason to lie to him, though she would put up quite a fight should he try to injure to her friend. Kani eyed him carefully before turning and giving her shoulder a bored lick, as if suddenly uninterested. She gave a look back toward where her friend laid asleep, or awake and worried, before turning back to the black and blue wolf. “So, stranger, shall I make a name for you or are you willing enough to give me it?” She stood and flicked her tail with a smile, walking to the edge of the log she was on and hopping to another, more solid one, closer to the male. Kani observed the males body movements, searching for signs of aggression or anything else as she got closer. She showed no signs of submission, nor did she seek any. True she was a very dominating wolf, but she was smart enough not to charge a wolf larger then her. She sat once more on the log she had hopped to, tilting her head at him and gazing at him with those big white eyes of hers.

The look she gave him, well, he chuckled slightly at it. Curosity, suspicion? Apparently, he struck a nerve with his question of company, and the midnight fae across the way didn't seem to like it. Ah, oh well, she'll learn about his... readings soon, of her body language and such. It'll be like he's a psychic, when he's clearly not; just experience giving him what he needs.
“I do in fact have a companion that I shouldn’t stray too far from. We have no goal to accomplish and by mere curiosity did we end up here.”
"Hm, then I would assume...," he said, with a hint of nonchalant before hopping to another log, getting a bit closer. "You should get going then, to return to... whoever, hm?" Another half hearted chuckle rumbled before he stretched out his front libs, lean muscles rippling under his slick midnight, specific blue fur. The golden hues kept an eye on the fae, dull and nonchalant, as he hinted that she licked her shoulder. Odd, but nevertheless, she was a female; they do odd things at any given moment in time. “So, stranger, shall I make a name for you or are you willing enough to give me it?” Those tufts on his ears swayed in the slight breeze as his ears twitched while he thought of giving a serious answer, or rather a hilarious one. "Hm..., you can call me anonymous." A slight smirk spread itself on his muzzle; cockiness sparked in his eyes before they returned to their cold hard state. "Ah, I tease, nothing more. I'm Alkadorio, m'lady. And you might be...?" He tilted his head at her, watching her move closer to him. The fae did not seem to back down, in which he enjoyed, as challenges were always accepted with him. The monster scratched his claws against the bark on the log, before stretching out his limbs again, extremely nonchalant with this whole ordeal. Tikaani’s muscles tightened and loosened when the wolf hopped closer. She blinked slowly as he talked, nibbling on the tip of her tongue. She didn’t respond to that, not wanting to give away her friend’s position. After all, she didn’t know if the male would cause harm to the fox or not. To herself she could deal with, but she could never allow him to harm Rama. It was her maternal instincts that drove her to protect him so fiercely, even though she didn’t exactly see him as a son.
Kani hopped to another log, giving him a daring look to come closer, but she gave a smile along with it. “Anonymous is rather plain,” She said teasingly, stretching out her front legs, leaning down into a bowing position though she kept her guard up as she did so. She sat down again collectively on the flat green log she was on. “Alkadorio. Much better,” she said with a playful laugh, getting his name around her tongue. It was unusual, and she liked it. Tikaani looked to her left into the vast swamp, curious of what else might be out there. Monsters perhaps?
The black wolf gave a shake of her head, “You, Alkadorio may have been so willing as to give me your name, but who ever said I would return such a reward?” Her tail swept across the wet ground once and she chuckled softly, “It’s Tikaani,” She said, thinking she had teased him enough to see he could take a joke. “And my companion, should you ever meet him, is Rama. Though I’m sure you wouldn’t have such interest in meeting a fox when your own kind stands before you.” She hopped closer again, her ears standing erect. She was getting close enough to distinguish the markings on his face. More blue, and she somewhat envied him. She was saturated completely, being of black fur and possessing white eyes.

The look she gave him was rather mischevious in his eyes. As the fae came closer towards him, he noticed that she had pure white eyes; no pupils, just the bliss of the hue coloration of white. Interesting, to say the least, as these lands he walked across, he always found ones that were slightly different than him.
“Anonymous is rather plain... Alkadorio. Much better."
Her voice was teasing, giving off more of a dominant challenge, and he enjoyed the display she put off. The monster chuckled, except it was cold, and he didn't put forth much effort to display any affection. "Much better? I guess so, fae, whatever you say." His golden hues glistened, ready to play at her very own game with teases and such. The noises surrounding the brute did not bother him; he focused on the company before him, trying to read her displays of emotion and whatever else he can pick off of her. “You, Alkadorio may have been so willing as to give me your name, but who ever said I would return such a reward?” This time, he bursted out laughing. The growl in his throat rumbled, more like a roar than a growl, and his tongue flicked across his teeth. He was overjoyed with this fae, as she had a rather crude sense of humor, and he liked it. "Very true, very true. However, it would be my simple pleasure to give you whatever name I wish, then, if you choose to remain anonymous." He returned her teasing, with a guarded, icy tone. “It’s Tikaani... And my companion, should you ever meet him, is Rama. Though I’m sure you wouldn’t have such interest in meeting a fox when your own kind stands before you.” Tikanni was a relatively nice name, he decided. She did seem to fit the name, with her midnight fur and piercing ghostly eyes. "A fox? That's... odd, walking around with a fox for a companion. Tell me... How does that play about?" The brute tilted his head, showing a display of caring when, inside him, he could not muster up the slightest bit, even though he actually tried. The wolf watched her hop closer again, and this time, he stayed still, allowing the distance to be closed off by the fae. It was respect in his eyes, allowing her to step forth herself, because if he did it, he felt he came off as more of a monster than he already is. "However, he would be quite interesting, in my belief. Is he cunning, like the creatures say he is, because of the fact he is a fox? Or am I speaking stereotypes?" [/blockquote][/blockquote] x - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - xNOTEZ; HAKUNA MATATAAAAA. Tikanni dropped to her haunches and looked carefully at Alkadorio as he spoke of her companion. To her, it was not odd in the slightest, and in a way, it offended her. What was so weird about it? She spoke up defensively, “Believe it or not we share the same curse. He was cast away from his own kind as I have, so what would be odd about two relatively alike beings traveling together?” With that she turned her head away and swept her tail once along the ground in annoyance. It wasn’t that she was actually annoyed by his company, in fact, it quite delighted her. But she was just irritated at his choice of words. “Cunning yes, but I see him as more annoying than creative. They have quite the sharp tongue, foxes, and Rama is just as sly as he is quick to respond.” This time, Tikaani stepped down from the log she was perched on and moved in a circle shape, rounding the male instead of heading directly toward him. She stepped up onto another log, growling quietly as the bog refused to release her foot. She jerked free and sat again, looking into the male wolf’s eyes. She had the desire to feed off of him, curios to know what emotion ran through his mind. Since Kani didn’t eat food, she would eat other’s emotions and it came out as a smoky like substance, ranging in colors depending on the mood.
She couldn’t put her paw on it. She wanted to know what was going through his mind as he sat there. Kani spoke up suddenly, “You seem guarded, Alkadorio. Do you see me as a threat?” She ended the sentence with a mocking tone, and she rose with it, smiling wickedly. “I assure you that you needn’t fear me, for what kind of damage could I do except steal your memory?” This was not completely true. Tikaani took emotion, and occasionally this caused her donor to lose some memory. Not necessarily did she receive it, but she did get glimpses of what it was they were thinking of the time. Sometimes it was a memory that happened seconds before, but it could also be years before. Their memory would remain in her mind, and they would never get it back. Occasionally she would be willing to return it, had she possessed the ability to do so, but she did not.

Why, the fae showed emotions of annoyance on her face, and her body language dramatically shifted when he questioned about her companion. Why? Why did she feel such a need to defend him, when all he did was ask a question? True, that his choice of wording is one with cold bitterness, but at least he tried with it. Ah, alas, he will stop trying, and just let the words flow through him without a filter.
“Believe it or not we share the same curse. He was cast away from his own kind as I have, so what would be odd about two relatively alike beings traveling together?”
Blinking a few times at her tone, he bursted out into a chuckle, it being clouded in shadows and the dark humor made itself present within it. "Ah, relax, relax. A curse is indifferent to situations, but nevertheless, interesting. It's only odd because foxes are known to be... sly, and could steal whatever they want away." He based this on past experience, and also rumors that spread itself across the lands. Foxes, indeed, have that personality, and his golden hues glinted with a spark of respect. The brute was harsh when he spoke, but he did not seem to notice, and could only fix it by watching the body language of another to decipher the tone behind his words; usually being cold and dark. "Ah, and curse? Explain this, as you look nothing of such, besides the owner of piercing eyes." The brute nodded his head once at what this Ramas' personality, and his eyes fixed on her as she moved in a circle like shape, and not coming forth. It amused him, and a wicked small smirk spread itself on his face as she kept her distance. Fear, contemplation? Ah, the things that could be running through that fae's head. “You seem guarded, Alkadorio. Do you see me as a threat? ... I assure you that you needn’t fear me, for what kind of damage could I do except steal your memory?” The brute didn't flinch at her mocking tone, as he rather found her a slight entertainment to him, trying to pinpoint where his position was towards her. "Take it." His tone of voice was sharp as he said those two words, and a serious flash in his eyes sparked through for only but a moment. "Guarded is not the word, m'lady. In fact, I would suppose I'm more nonchalant about my position, seeing you slightly of lesser build and keeping your distance yourself." The wolf chuckled humorlessly, before continuing. "You are not a threat, but more of a mere opportunity to a conversation. If you want my memory for your own will, be careful of what you see. I could possibily surprise you, hm?" [/blockquote][/blockquote] x - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - xNOTEZ; Dramatic speaking color change! Tikanni bit her tongue to keep from responding to his stereotypical response to foxes being thefts. She stood and stepped back into the mushy ground and made a B-line toward him, moving in a relaxed non aggressive way. She scoffed and made a bold move, hopping onto the log the male was on and sitting on the opposite end. She raised her head, “What you consume to survive will kill me and my companion within the hour. Our curse isn’t a physical appearance, more so an inner nuisance. Instead we take emotions to satisfy what you call hunger.” She flicked her tail and blinked slowly at his response. The temptation to actually go for his memory was hard to resist, although she did not posses the skill to take memory alone.
“I’ve witnessed too many surprises for you to be any different. By taking your memory it would be a relief from the sick things I’ve seen in the minds of others.” The black wolf reached down and nibbled on her leg, giving release from an irritable itch. “What do you call yourself? Appearance wise, I mean. Be it a curse or simply inherited by your parents?”

The way she stepped forward to come to the same log as him didn't phase him. Those orbs just watched her hop, and sit forward, and her keen white eyes themselves kept a look on him.
“What you consume to survive will kill me and my companion within the hour. Our curse isn’t a physical appearance, more so an inner nuisance. Instead we take emotions to satisfy what you call hunger.”
"Now that, m'lady, is interesting." And the brute meant what he said, as his tone of voice hinted a bit of fascination in the mix of ice. "Do you wonder about mine? Has a thought of tasting my emotions crossed your thoughts yet?" He was very direct about it, as he always is about everything, and he tilted his head, waiting for her response. His tail flicked side to side, seeming amused by this whole ordeal. “I’ve witnessed too many surprises for you to be any different. By taking your memory it would be a relief from the sick things I’ve seen in the minds of others.” Blinking a few times, he nodded towards her, understanding what she may be able to see. "Ah, indeed, but who ever said it would simply be a relief? Moreover, it'll be like entertainment for you. I am not the most... heart-filled wolf alive." Chuckling, he scratched claws at the log out of habit. “What do you call yourself? Appearance wise, I mean. Be it a curse or simply inherited by your parents?” The brute's shoulders went up in a shrug, and his ears twitched while he was in thought. "I was different." Simple phrase, but it was true. "My father was black as night. My mother was a gray color with a hint of blue. I was a mutant." The heartless chuckle arose in his throat again, his golden hues hinting distance, like he was out of himself. Like his mind went somewhere else, and his heart followed. "I was the monster, and so, I turned out like this. Tikaani gave only a nod when he asked if she wanted to sample his emotions. In fact, she was incredibly eager that he brought up the subject, and she almost took it as an offer. She tried to picture it in her mind, what images would flash like dream before her eyes. Would she see something horrible that would leave her mentally scarred, or possibly something amusing? She perked her ears up when he spoke about it being entertainment, and for a moment, she thought he could read her mind. “Well, my dear Alkadorio, you must be filled with something. We do not walk on this earth empty.” Tikaani stopped for a moment and tilted her head, “Though perhaps it is possible. I don’t even feel a heart beating.” She finished the sentence with a sort of innocent tone, but she meant far from it. She kind of felt like she was trying to suck him in and eventually persuade him to let her feed off of him, but in truth, she was looking for friendship.
She gave a flick of her tail when the black and blue wolf started to speak of himself being a mutant. She shook her head at this but made no comment. She learned that only his mother possessed a blue fur colored gene, which must have been fairly strong, seeing as Alkadorio had quite a large amount of blue on him, though it made him attractive, in a weird way. She licked her muzzle and looked up once before replying, “I believe it is to show that we are different. That we will never be normal. Our eyes are more of a disgrace, reminding us daily that we will never fit in among our brethren. Though I find it rather beautiful, no?” She gave him a devilish smirk, “Have you come across one with as pure eyes as I? Or have all the faes in your life been tainted with color?” She was teasing again and she made this obvious with her tone of voice.
She was becoming rather fond of this ‘mutant’ that sat before her. Yes, she had only met him a few minutes ago, but she liked his personality. How he wasn’t afraid to admit his differences, and in a way, it reminded her of Rama. But of course, why would any wolf want to be compared to a fox?

That nod the fae gave him seemed to confirm his question enough. What if he did allow her to feed off of him? Maybe it would taste something close to ice cream. Or snow, whichever came first into the fae's mind.
“Well, my dear Alkadorio, you must be filled with something. We do not walk on this earth empty ... Though perhaps it is possible. I don’t even feel a heart beating.”
At this, he bursted out laughing again. It was filled with amusement the entire few moments he laughed, then he cut it off short, but the chuckle growls were still evident in his throat. The tone of the fae, he picked up, was somewhat... innocent. This female, he decided, was quite fascinating all on her own. "Ah, and neither do I. I never have." He lifted his paw to his nose, hiding his last chuckle, then placed it back down onto the log. His golden hues fixed on her white, and he thought what it would feel like to suck emotions out of another. It intrigued him. “I believe it is to show that we are different. That we will never be normal. Our eyes are more of a disgrace, reminding us daily that we will never fit in among our brethren. Though I find it rather beautiful, no?” The brute let out a small hmm at this, and pondered her meaning. Of course, some will be in fear of the unknown, and he, himself, is such a thing. Nodding his head a bit, he considered her words some more. "True. We will not be normal, ever, and the intimidation we receive is... well, rather flattering." The power in his tone grew a bit, letting out the hunger of lust and greed he had deep within him. “Have you come across one with as pure eyes as I? Or have all the faes in your life been tainted with color?” The wicked smirk she had her face caused him to give back one in return. The one before him was extremely wise with her words, and he started to enjoy the company he had. "I must admit, they were tainted with color. Yours are the only ones that are pure." Chuckling, his voice shifted deeper, his teasing mixed with his nonchalant tone. "I am fortunate enough to look at them, hm?" The brute stood up on all fours now, his lean muscular build rippling underneath his slick fur. He shook out his thick blue mane, and yawned slightly, his dull look returning to his face. Tikanni gave a smile and yet another head tilt when he exploded with laughter. He seemed to find her amusing, but he quickly silenced his laughter chuckles. This troubled her in a way. Had she done or said something that made him feel bad to laugh in front of her? Or maybe was that just how he was? She tucked the thought away when he spoke about he too not having a heart. The idea made her silence herself to listen for one, but she was too in good of a mood to settle down and actually try to hear his heartbeat.
She lowered herself onto her chest, laying down in front of him to show her comfort. She didn’t fear him, and she made it obvious by relaxing. She held back a scoff, “Fortunate?” She thought about this for a moment. “Fortunate, when speaking about one’s eyes, is a compliment, “she swept her tail across the log, “Or do you mean something else by it?” Kani gave another mocking smirk, “Am I not beautiful, Alkadorio?” In her mind there was no such thing as beauty in appearances, but she liked to tease him. She liked his reactions, they amused her. And, she wanted to know what he thought of her. Not that she could care less, but curiosity was just that. Curiosity. She looked up at him and then at the sky. The sky was just starting to turn pink, a sign that the sun was going to set. She would have to get back to Rama soon and they would both have to feed before they slept through the night. She yawned, looking at Alkadorio once more, “Have you a place to return to for the night?” True he had said earlier that he had just gotten lost here, but maybe he found shelter somewhere. Tikaani was willing to sleep on the broken tree, but a den, hollowed tree, or even a cave was more desirable.

The fae's silence struck him for a split second; was she really listening for something? No matter, as there was something slowly beating in his chest but he could not feel it. It as an icebox, and nothing more to him, unfortunately. It pumped blood to keep him alive, but he could not feel from the depths of it as other creatures could when they encountered love. What is love, anyway?
The wolf watched her lay down, and he blinked. She let her guard down in front of him, not knowing him but for only a few moments? This puzzled him, but he kept his expression clean of any sort of emotions.
"Fortunate? Fortunate, when speaking about one's eyes, is a compliment."
Alkadorio chuckled, his tail tip flicked a few times as if he was bored. "This is true. How could I not compliment you? Ah, besides, your eyes are nothing special," the brute said, his tone hinting a tease struck in there. The fae seemed rather sensitive, but he did not know what to expect from her after his comment. Or do you mean something else by it? ... Am I not beautiful, Alkadorio?" The brute blinked a few times, and remained silent, pondering that question. A fae never asked him of their appearance, and only just assumed when he was manipulating their heart to his bidding. "You are, in a simple way, m'lady." The wolf chuckled, then turned to the sky, seeing the hint of blue change colors drastically to a various shade of red and orange. "However, a good simple way." “Have you a place to return to for the night?” The brute shook his head, and proceeded to stretch out his limbs in front of her. His paws were only a mere few inches before hers, but he finished and shook his fur out. "I was thinking I should sleep in the muck. It's the only available place." A humorless chuckle escaped him, before opening his muzzle once more. "No, m'lady, I do not. Do you?" [/blockquote][/blockquote] x - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - xNOTEZ; I'm sorry you had to wait. Tikaani gave a rather loud snort after he made the comment about her eyes. It was all she could do to hold back the words that jumped to her tongue, but she clamped her jaw shut. She was here to socialize, not fight. His words irritated her and she showed this by dragging her tail across the dog quickly, then relaxing it. Kind of like a cat when they were getting mad or annoyed by something. He spoke again but she turned her head away in an uninterested way. Simple had been her label for a while until she stopped listening to others opinions. Kani huffed and sat up, still not looking at the black wolf in front of her. He stretched and she watched out of the corner of her eye and yawned when he spoke.
"I'll be returning to a rather uncomfortable slab of wood and bask in the comfort of my admiring companion." Her sudden attitude change was fairly drastic, and it wasn't necessary. She had been called worse before, but for some reason, it really bothered her when he said it. She perked her ears forward suddenly then turned to look behind her. Trudging through the muck with a rather unpleasant look on his face was a black bat-eared fox with pure white eyes. Kani gave a sheepish smile at him and a whine of affection as he got closer. The fox made no comment about the male wolf but clambered up onto the log next to Kani, his legs caked with mud. Saying nothing to Rama, Kani turned back to Alkadorio. "If you truly desire, I'm sure my companion an I can manage more room on our sleeping quarters."
"If you do not care to touch a fox. After all, we're sly, cunning, inconsiderate, thefts."
Kani couldn't help but smile at her friend's curt tone. Either he had been listening in on their conversation, or he was just good with saying things at the right time.

The way the fae suddenly turned, it interested him how sensitive she was, and how she showed it so clearly. Creatures like her were fascinating; they stand guarded for a minimum amount of time possible and let their heart of their sleeve basically. Such things were stunning, as he kept everything will hidden and frozen underneath his tough exterior. The way her body language was, he responded by a gleam in his eye; something maybe of guilt, or sorrow for the comment he said. The brute did not have a filter, and it was hard for him to hold back his words; he figured being blunt is the best way to be.
"I'll be returning to a rather uncomfortable slab of wood and bask in the comfort of my admiring companion."
The wolf shrugged, his attitude changing to something like one with a chip on their shoulder. A huff escaped him, but only softly, as if he was sorting through the many clicks in his brain to decipher the drastic change. Faes, man, weren't they complicated? Complexity is amazing, but it was also a curse all on its own; to the one receiving it, anyway. "If you truly desire, I'm sure my companion an I can manage more room on our sleeping quarters." Again, the brute shrugged, but this time he made sure his body language leaned more to the "sure" side, than the attitude portion. His golden orbs clutched onto the fox, seeing how his eyes were the same. It definitely intruged him, and he watched the slight affection pass between the two. Companions for a while, they must share something as it is evident on their faces; not love, but a closer bond, and he couldn't help but get slightly colder because of it. "If you do not care to touch a fox. After all, we're sly, cunning, inconsiderate, thefts."This time, the wolf bursted out laughing. The growls in his throat were more like lion roars as they kept themselves contain deep within. "The more reason to touch you then, hm?" Alkadorio shook out his blue mane, and a small wicked smirk spread itself on his muzzle for a moment. "Classifying yourself in stereotypes, and not allowing yourself anything more than that? You don't have a personality of your own?" The tone of voice that he possessed in those words were of something evil; the boogyman in the closet, or the monster underneath your bed. Something in him completely detached, and the clicks stopped in his head; like his emotions and his body separated. The wolf's eyes went dull and bleak as he hopped off the log him and the fae were on, and onto another, his head turning back towards them. Those eyes, sharp, hard, peered at both and his head tilted, as if asking if they were coming along.
