Rama moved around Kani to make eye contact with the male. "Whenever we foxes attempt to show any personality we're shunned for trying to cover up the lies others have made about us. It does not please me to listen to another demonize me as if they know a thing about me. And since I've never met you before I would appreciate a little respect. Is it a habit of yours to make enemies rather then allies? Don't even think about making a degrading comment about my species because I won't have it." The fox was incredibly irritated that this wolf was just like the others. In fact, he was more surprised he hadn't made a comment about the white eyes. Usually that was the first thing, and then they would droll on about how eager foxes were to rob others of their good fortune.
Kani glanced once at Rama then at Alkadorio, asking with her eyes, expression, and body not to retort to the fox's sharp comeback. She knew Rama was just tired from walking all day, and that he was hungry. He wasn't normally like this, but that was usually with just her around. Come to think of it, it had been a while since he had been around another male before. It had been even longer since he'd been around another wolf other then herself. Tikaani nudged the fox and stepped off the log, watching as he followed. She wasn't sure if Alkadorio knew where he was going so she took lead and made her way through the muck, following her old footprints back to the sawed off tree. Rama jumped up first and purposefully stretched out and took as much room as he could.
Kani gave him a look before stepped onto the flattened trunk, shaking her paw to rid herself of the muck. The wolf sat down close to the edge and looked at the fox who looked up at her. The two made eye contact for a minute or two, in silence. Then, Rama sat up and opened his mouth. Red and black smoke oozed from his mouth and floated down around his paws before running up in a stream into Kani's open mouth. From her mouth washed out light purple smoke that swirled in the air and streaming down into Rama's open maw.
The two sat like this for a few minutes, exchanging emotions in mist form before Rama closed his maw, the red and black smoke disappearing. He blinked his eyes and looked around, a puzzled look on his face. He turned his head to look at the other wolf. "Who's that?" He growled, the hackles on his back raising. Kani looked at Alkadorio and shrugged, "A friend. Leave him be." Obviously she had taken his recent memory, but she didn't see anything. So that means, he forgot what Alkadorio said, and she wished he would keep a comment to himself to avoid a fight.

The words of the fox suck deep in him, breaking a barrier and it struck a nerve. A growl started to rise, and the wolf got tense for a second, his muscles rippling as if he was about to snap at him. However, the eyes of the fae landed on him, and he saw from the corner of his orbs. The look she gave him, whatever look was in those windows, he relaxed. This was her companion; and even though he did not even care enough to get to know the creature, he let it rest. In any case, he was quicker, but the wolf had the muscles. His temper would burst and he would do somehing he would have done in the past; fight. Thankfully, he respected the fae he just met a bit, which was surprising, but she grew on him. The lady walked past him, and he watched the fox follow like a puppy. The wolf let out a huff, not minding the muck that seeped on his paw fur because it demonstrated his mood; mucky. Irony at its finest. The exchanging of "food", their emotions, between the both of them was astounding. Alkadorio kept his face blank and his eyes uninterested, but it lighted something in him. His eyes are fixed to the mist, the scene, everything. Out of every creature he has ever come through, not one was as unique as these two. He could admit that. "Who's that?" "A friend. Leave him be." The fox got defensive, and didn't remember who this brute was. The memory loss, the side effect, and he almost wanted to brust out laughing at him. He kept it hidden, and glanced at the fae on the flat trunk. Those golden hues glinted, giving her the acknowledgment that he will drop all what was said, and paced himself to a fallen tree that was stuck in the muck, the top portion sticking out with branches sprawled outwards. Instead of taking up room for the both of them, he hopped onto the tree, and clutching the bark with his claws, he walked to the branches and laid down on them. It was slightly away from them, and to the side of the fae, but once his head was rested on his paws, he saw in front of him and only could see her out of the corner of his eyes. Those ears were perked for any sudden noises, and not the usual croaks of frogs and such. He decided he would wait until the fox was asleep to ask what the different colors of the mist means, and alas, he let his tail drop from the branch and sway slightly. Tikaani let out a content sigh and laid down, nipping at an itch on her side. She watched as Rama made himself comfortable against her belly, eyes still locked on the male. Kani rolled her eyes, but because of the discoloration, it wasn't obvious. Boys were such hot heads. Finding any excuse they could to let out some anger on each other. Rama shouldn't have acted the way he did, but it was just him in a bad mood. No doubt they would bicker the following day, if the trio were together that long. Who knows, maybe Alkadorio would wake before she did and leave without as much as a goodbye. It had happened before, Tikaani and Rama were used to being abandoned, so he wouldn't be any different.
The black wolf put her head down on her paw, keeping the other one tucked up under her chest. She inhaled deeply and let out a sigh, blinking slowly. What a day. Walking for hours, then stumbling upon a new friend. At least, Kani considered him a friend. She didn't know what he thought of her, but he must like her in some sense if he'd be willing to sleep near her. Kani looked up at the darkening sky, wondering where the sun was going. Where else did it have to be? Why couldn't it just hang around? True, Kani liked the dark because it gave her peace knowing she could sleep in hiding, but the sun made everything so bright. It gave so many things energy. The dark seemed to take it away. This was obvious because it wasn't long before Kani heard Rama's quiet snores.
The wolf yawned quietly and laid there in silence, not feeling like she was ready to sleep yet. She liked to watch the stars come out, mostly because it reminded her of her reflection. White dots in a black sky. A pang of loneliness struck her suddenly. This was the first time in a long time another wolf was willing to be around her. The realization of this made her wish Alkadorio wouldn't leave. She truly loved being with Rama, but nothing could compare to being around her own species.

When the snores of the fox swept into his ears, his orbs gazed over at the she wolf, acknowleding how she was staring into the sky so intently. Blinking, the brute turned to the sky too, and for a moment gazed at the darkness that was soon upon them. He did not find any fascination in it like the fae; he wondered would she could see up there, and what intrigued her so? The wolf huffed a bit, irritated at his slight confusion, and let his tail flick in annoyance.
Could it possibly be his heart was as dark as the night sky?
Possible, but it cannot be known because his ice box is tucked away in his ribs. Following a few more snores of the fox came his question, "What do the different spectrums mean?" He turned his attention to the fae; his entire head grazed slowly to her, and his golden hues latched onto the white orbs that pierced up through the sky. "I would assume different colors mean different moods, yes? And that whole defense by the fox... He forgot, hm?"

Tikaani's ear twitched when she heard Alkadorio huff. She didn't turn to look at him, but rather went to lick at her paw. Her pink tongue against the black seemed out of place, but it wasn't like her tongue was hanging out all the time for it to be noticeable. At the male's voice, Kani stopped grooming and looked toward him. She gave a nod at his guess. "Had you been with us earlier, you would have seen white. Which, naturally, is bored, plain. Just now, Rama's emotion was irritated and protective, hence the mix between the two colors." She stopped for him to speak again and gave an affectionate smile toward the sleeping fox.
"Yes, I took his recent memory. But, since I was present, and because he was sleeping before he wandered into our conversation, I saw nothing out of the ordinary." She licked her nose and cast another look up at the heavens. What would her parents tell her right now? Would they tell her she did a good job and making a friend? Or would they scold her because she and Rama had isolated themselves from the world. After all, why would one bother to speak to another if all they got was disappointment?
The black wolf closed her eyes and tucked her head against her chest, thinking. What did Alkadorio feel? What was going through his head right now? Was he happy, or maybe sad? Bored, or possibly irritated? What did he think of her? That question lingered in her mind and almost made its way onto her tongue before she forced herself to change the subject. "What are you thinking about, hm? Are you at peace after meeting another that is also different? Or are you perhaps irritated at this?"

"Had you been with us earlier, you would have seen white. Which, naturally, is bored, plain. Just now, Rama's emotion was irritated and protective, hence the mix between the two colors."
The wolf nodded, and closed his eyes for a moment as he listened to the clicks in his brain. Different emotions means different colors off of the spectrum; there could be more than one. Sounds simple enough; in any cause, maybe behaviors add to it too. The brute huffed a bit, in thought, while softly saying, "Why was yours a violet?" He tried to keep his cold tone at a minimum, but it was futile; nothing he did shook off the icicles in him. "Yes, I took his recent memory. But, since I was present, and because he was sleeping before he wandered into our conversation, I saw nothing out of the ordinary." "Bah, that sounds tedious." The male yawned, and stretched out his front limbs before returning them in their original state. "Do you ever let another's emotions get to you?" A simple, curious filled question, and his head was filled with wonders on how he could make others feel the way he feels. "What are you thinking about, hm? Are you at peace after meeting another that is also different? Or are you perhaps irritated at this?" Alkadorio blinked at her questions. A fae would ask such things filled with emotions, but he felt a ping of envy. How she could feel, it astonished him. What was it like to care? "I feel indifferent." The brute chuckled, but didn't put forth effort into such occasion. "The things that go through my mind will simply make you cry." The brute gazed over to her and saw the fox lazed out against her. "Are you comfortable? .. And do you have anymore questions?" [/blockquote][/blockquote] x - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - xNOTEZ; I'm sorry you had to wait. If wolves could blush, Tikaani would have turned bright red. Purple usually meant she was attracted to something, but at the same time, it also could mean she was comfortable. She went with the second one, "I felt safe." Her voice was soft, and quiet. Barely above a whisper. That was all she said before she turned to look away from him. Her body grew warm with what would have been called embarrassment. Though, she knew there was really nothing to be embarrassed about. He spoke again but she didn't make eye contact. Instead, she once more turned her gaze to the sky. She thought about his question and grew silent. She hadn't thought about that before. She always did feel a bit different after ever feeding session. Did that mean she captured their emotion and her body used it as its own?
"Sometimes." Once again it was a plain, quiet answer, but it was all she felt needed to be said. She chewed on the wet side of her cheek, pondering her situation. His chortle caught her attention, but she never let her eyes trail from the sky. She didn't smile or use a witty comeback when he spoke. "Please. All my tears have been wasted on things that shouldn't have mattered." She sighed quietly and finally looked down at her paws. Her ears leaned back slightly and she gave a nod. "Yes, I am." She watched Rama breath, her heart pounding. Why did she feel so safe, so at ease with this wolf she just met? What made him different to her?
The way he spoke to her? Perhaps the way he looked at her? It was different, but in a way, comforting. Even if his voice was cold, and even if he did tease her. It brought warmth to her, and made her feel...at home. She swallowed and shook her head, lien to herself. "No." She said quietly. It was a complete and utter lie. Thousands of questions that ran through her mind, but she felt as though she had spoken enough. The stars were shining brilliantly, and she looked up one last time. Oh how she wished she were a star. There were so many of them, and they were with each other every night. When would she ever feel that comfort? When would she be able to feel at home, in the presence of her friends? Tikaani blinked slowly and looked down. She let her head rest on her paws but she kept her gaze up at the sky. Will she ever feel the same way a star did?

When the fae spoke, "I felt safe,"
in a soft voice, barely a whisper, it caught his attention immensely. Why did she grow all quiet like that? The brute blinked a few times, and just nodded at her statement. He figured he couldn't say anything more to that. "Sometimes." What was with these answers now? Faes, how complex they are. They changed their moods so quickly, and he could not keep up with any of it. "Only sometimes?" He let his voice trail, only because, against her soft tone, he didn't want his harsh icy voice colliding against it. To him, somehow, it just didn't feel nor sound right. "Please. All my tears have been wasted on things that shouldn't have mattered." "One does not cry for no reason." The wolf slowly sat up on the branch he was laying on, his head turned towards the sky. Again, he wondered why she was so keen on them; what kept her attention? Why? How? They were gas in the atmosphere, millions of miles away. "Fireflies", if you will. "At the time, it mattered." Alkadorio yawned, his ears twitching to the sounds of the fox snoring soundly. "No." The quiet tone of hers did not convince him, so he gracefully hopped down the fallen tree and leaped onto a log, closer to the fae. He blinked at her, seeing her eyes to the sky, and his hues gazed back and forth. The way her body language was, he did not know whether or not to take that "no" seriously. With a small huff, he latched his eyes to hers and tried his hardest to muster up something soft. "Are you sure? Do you want to sleep?" [/blockquote][/blockquote] x - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - xNOTEZ; I'm sorry you had to wait. Tikaani didn't respond nor pay attention to his comments. She wasn't sure why she closed herself off so suddenly, but she felt the need to. Perhaps if she continued to act this way, Alkadorio would get worried and stay with her. But she didn't want to base a friendship over something like that. Come on Kani, suck it up. Easier said then done. The black wolf continued to gaze up at the sky, not acknowledging the male hopping closer. She lifted her head from her paws and looked at him. "No. I'm never sure of anything. I can't be sure of anything because it always changes." She knew that wasn't the answer he expected. He had wanted to know if she wanted to ask anything, but she kept the questions locked away in her mind for later. If there would be a later.
Rama yelped in his sleep and gave Kani a good kick to the gut. She hardly flinched but growled in response, not doing it from anger, but instinct. She was to defend herself, but he had caused no damage, he had meant no harm. He was sleeping after all. The wolf licked her maw once before shaking her head and finally answering the brute. "I don't, though my body wills it. If only we didn't have to sleep. Then I could watch the stars all night without waking to find them gone." She blinked slowly and kept a locked gaze with the male. After a moment of silence, she broke the eye contact and pointed her nose to the moon. "Where do you suppose it goes for the day? The moon." It was a innocent question, and she didn't demand it be answered. She was just wondering if he knew.
Kani then looked all over the sky, her gaze switching from star to star to star. She smiled at them, longing so dearly just to leap up into the night and stay up there. A shooting star caught her attention and her ears perked up, her tail wagging once. She gave a quiet, soft but excited whine, searching the sky eagerly for more. She had seen them a few times but it had been weeks since she'd found another.

The fae's body language disturbed him. Why did she close off so suddenly? The clicks were blasting off in his head, but this time around, he tried his best to ignore it. He wanted to base his actions off of his instincts. When she turned to look at him, he tilted his head at her.
"No. I'm never sure of anything. I can't be sure of anything because it always changes."
The wolf said nothing, but continued to gaze at her, wondering why walls were blocking access to her heart. After another few moments, he dropped his gaze to the fox and yawned, stretching out his front legs. When Rama gave the fae a kick to the gut, his orbs turned into golden slits and he gave the sleeping fox a hard look. Then, a second later, his face went back into something emotionless; like a blink of an eye, like the protectiveness never happened. "I don't, though my body wills it. If only we didn't have to sleep. Then I could watch the stars all night without waking to find them gone." Alkadorio simply nodded at her words, but he was unsure if she could see the thick mane bob up and down. The brute closed his eyes for a moment to dull out the clicks, and fighting against his instinct to huff and plainly walk away. He couldn't do that to her. Something made him stay in that one spot. "Where do you suppose it goes for the day? The moon." The brute gave a shrug, and his gaze went up to the moon to peer at it. Something that made the light in the darkness. The light at the end of the tunnel, and she was wondering where it goes? Interesting. "It doesn't go anywhere." His tone came out harsh, since he didn't speak for a little while. He huffed softly and tried to force his tone to be soft with her. "It's the light in the darkness. It makes its appearance to those who need it, but it never goes away. There will always be ones who need the light." The male said this plainly, like behavior and deep thinking was his native language. He turned and hopped back upon his tree, to the branch and sat down on it. On the corner of his eye, he watched the fae jump up happily at falling star, but he did not get excited. Happiness was not something he experienced often, and a falling star, no matter how naturally beautiful, it just did not get him to leap for joy. Tikaani's ear flicked at his suddenly cold tone. She didn't question it, but merely ignored him. If he was going to be upset over something she had no control over, then fine. He can be upset. What's it to her anyway? She was content at the moment, so she had no need to lower herself to match his mood. The black wolf yawned, a high pitched squeak coming from her mouth. She licked her maw and rested her head on her paws, never looking away from the sky. She blinked slowly and leaned her head to the left to listen to Alkadorio's voice, which was somewhat softer. She flicked her tail and curled up, thrusting her head against her belly to warm her nose. She sighed heavily and cuddled deeper into her short fur. "And the ones who don't need the light happily live in the dark." She said quietly, more to herself then to the brute who was perched on a different branch. Tikaani exhaled softly and closed her eyes. Which is where it seems you want to be. She thought, not bothering to speak it. It didn't take long before the wolf fell asleep. And then, Rama gave her a foot to the face.
Time skip; morning
Rama had slept through the whole night peacefully, unaware of the conversation between his companion and the unknown wolf. When the black wolf opened his solid white eyes, it was just getting light out. The sky was a peachy pink color, fading into blue. The fox closed his eyes, yawned, stretched, then sat up, longing for food. Of course, not real solid food. Good heavens no, that was the last thing he wanted. He looked hungrily at Tikaani and leaped mentally when he saw her mouth was just slightly open. That meant he could take her emotions while she slept. You see, him and the wolf can't take the feelings unless their mouth is open, since that's where they come out. On rare occasions does the smoke come from the eyes, but that can be difficult and it doesn't always transfer.
Sitting still and gazing at his companion, the fox inhaled deeply which started the fix. Pink smoke danced from her mouth and it made Rama curious. Along with that, light purple smoke sprung out and twisted around, mixing with the pink. Oh-ho ho, she likes him! The fox exclaimed mentally. The pink wasn't exactly love or lust, but it was in the middle. She was longing for the brute. Not in a sexual way, otherwise the smoke would be red. But, she wanted him with her. Or at least, that's what the fox picked up. He sat for a minute, clamping his muzzle shut so he could observe the smoke that twirled and spun from his companion's maw. It danced together, bouncing off the log and off Tikaani's body in a playful manner. It then stretched toward the male wolf, but retracted quickly. Oh, you have got to be kidding me! The fox growled mentally, opening his maw and sucking in hard. He didn't want to see how bad the wolf wanted to stay with the brute. It was sickening to him, but in reality, deep down, it was envy and jealousy. For years Rama had never had to share Tikaani with anyone because they were both shunned. But now, he had competition.
Rama took in Tikaani's emotions, and when full, laid down close to her and watched the male. What was so fascinating about him? He wasn't anything special. Sure he had blue fur. So what. Yeah, he was a wolf. So what. And yes, of course, he was closed off and reserved. So freakin' what! One thing the fox knew was Kani loved challenges. Hell, she would follow the brute around and pester him until she got what she wanted. But, since she liked him, maybe she would follow him from afar, or confess her feelings. She wasn't the most open wolf, and never had she had a love interest before. All these things swam through Rama's mind, and before he knew it, he had an ocean crashing inside his brain. What is Tikaani left him for the wolf? What if she started to pay attention to him and not Rama? The more the fox thought about it, the more angered he got. No. He wasn't going to let Kani like that stupid hunk of black and blue. Rama was going to make sure he was the only male in her life. Always.
