Sky lighted down on a sturdy thick branch of an oak tree. She leaped off onto the ground just before the banch tarted to crack. Sky waded into the thick, silky water of the lake, it felt good. She sighed and let the cool water soak through her thick pelt. Sky was carefull not to get her massive wings wet, for she could not fly with soggy wings. She walked deeper into the water. Soon Sky was swimming. She folded her wings onto her back and dove under, using her wings to propel her through. When she came up, it was only for air and then she would dive back under the glassy surface.
Sky dragged herself out of the water, and flopped down on a rock. She swore she heard a wing beat, first one, then two, then three, then four, then five different wing beats. The beats kept multiplying, more and more. They were coming into veiw now, but these were not normal birds, not birds like seagulls and doves or pigons, but owls. There were Tyto abla (Common Barn owl), Tyto longimembris (Eastern Grass owl), Tyto tenebricosa (Sooty owl), and Tyto aurantia (Golden Masked owl). They were all part of the Tyto, or Barn owl family. Sky had no time to think, there were at least thirty or fourty owls, and one soggy wet Sky. The first owl, a Tyto aurantia, began the spraling dive they called a dive bomb, straight at Sky. A line of Tyto abla followed, then Tyto longimembris, then a shorter line of Tyto auantia, and finnaly a very large line of Tyto tenebricosa. After the Sotty owls started the dive bomb, a line of owls she hadn't seen came in, Strix nebulosa (Great gray owl), the fiersest owls known to wolf kind. It was now that Sky notied that they were coming for her. "Help me!"

Maji watched from the darkness of the forest as a large, multi-specied parliament flew down and started to attack a helpless wolf, Charging out of his hiding place, Maji and Marako started to help the fae by grabbing the owls and giving a swift bite to allow a quick and nearly painless death before grabbing another owl. There were so many of them though. They were starting to attack both Maji and Marako now, and the only thing the buck could do to defend himself was to use his antlers as a kind of spear, impaling several of the owls before they started to retreat, their numbers at a huge loss.
Panting heavily, Maji ignored the fae as he went over to each and every owl, saying a prayer of forgiveness and to help guide each owl-soul to the afterlife. He also put each one that hadn't been killed by his bite down so they didn't suffer. Turning to the she-wolf, Maji looked at her with fire in his eyes.
"How could you do such a thing? They were harmless owls? What could you have possibly done to get such a large and diverse number angry enough at you so as to provoke an attack of that magnitude?" Maji asked, Marako coming to stand beside him. There was an anger in his eyes that few had ever seen. He hated to kill things without a need to, and this was one of the few times that he had ever killed in defense. It pained him greatly to see so much death in what seemed like only moments. And while he could almost see why the Great Grey Owl had attacked, most of the others avoided wolves. Glaring at the fae, Maji waited for her to come up with some kind of excuse.

Sky watched as the wolf and strange thing with branches on it's head charged into the mass of swirling owls. She wanted to help, but she didn't want to anger the owl race any more than this. She felt extremily bad when the wolf and running tree whirled around to face her. The wolf talked so feirce, so wild, that she wanted to crawl into a hole and lie there forever. "I-I.. well you see... my brother was friends with owls. We grew up with owls, mostly Tytos', or barn owls, I have never seen a Great Gray before... well, my brother grew up fine, but as he got older, something changed inside of him. I couldn't help him, he went mad. Th-The pack I used to live in gave me the job of well, you know..." Tears filled her eyes at this point. "Killing him." She said in a small voice. "The owls were greatly disturbed by this, and then got very, very angy. They sarted attacking my pack, I ws exiled. They have finnaly found me again, I'm sorry I mad you kill what wasn't yours to kill." She looked at her paws, they would never believe her, it was a story that sounded completely and utterly made up. Her eyes slowly turned from a teal, wich meant scared, to a deep purple, wich meant sad. She waited for the heated response.

Maji narrowed his eyes once more at the girl before turning and stomping in one direction and then turning and stomping in the other, pacing as he thought of what this meant. He knew now that it wasn't her fault, but it was never easy to forgive someone for something so horrible.
"Fine. It may not be your fault, but the least you could have done was help us," Maji said, before Marako nudged him lightly.
"She said it wasn't her fault. And while I agree that she should have helped out, she didn't. That can't be changed now," Marako said in a relatively calm voice. He was not at all sympathizing with the fae, or in the mood for forgiving her, but he couldn't just stand by while Maji took what little anger he did have on the poor pup.
"You may be right Marako, but that doesn't change the fact that we just slaughtered several dozen innocent owls."
Marako could only bow his head in the wake of Maji's heated anger. He knew that it was both pointless and unwise to argue with Maji when he was like this, so he merely walked slowly away, back into the forest where they had come from, staying within eyesight of both the wolves. He didn't want Maji to suddenly pop his top and attack the fae.

Sky Flinched at every single of the strange wolves remarks. "I'm sorry." She said quietly. Sky looked up at the wolf who had saved her minutes ago, he was odd, he had spots and stripes of color, but most odd of all, he a set of rams' horns! What in the name of... She didn't get a chance to finish the thought, this wolf, it seemed to be talking to the running tree. How could this be? They were different animals! Sky thought. "Look. If you want to talk, it can't be out hear. They could come with more owls. If you want to talk, it must be in my den." She said in a stronger voice than before. Sky was about to start flapping her wings when she remembered her wings were wet. She began walking clumsily to her cave, or den. She did not care if the wolf followed her or not, she wanted the heat of her fire to soak into her cold and tired bones.
Her den was a cold and murky place without the fire, which she lighted immediately. This was a skill that most normal wolves, ones without fire powers, could easily learn, let alone do. She had learned it from the owls, when they hadn't been so mad at her. Sky sank down into a nice ear hide, and closed her eyes. Her eyes were turning back to blue, the calm color. The crackling of the fire was slowly lulling her to sleep, when she remembered the other wolf, and the running tree. "I should introduce myself, I am Sky, former member of the Pack of Night. They are wonderful pack. What is your name?" She asked. She out of habit let her tail play across her face, something that would be called "flirting" in her pack. She did this when ever a male came along, and it had become a habit.
Sorry! My muse has gone "POOF!" for last few days!

Maji huffed and watched her walk away for a few moments before sighing and motioning for Marako to follow him as he walked behind the fae.
He didn't know what the fae was up to, or why she suddenly needed to be in her den, but he was bound and determined to find a way to somehow punish this girl. Either that or find out what had changed inside of her brother. It must have been very traumatizing to have to kill ones own blood.
Thinking about that, Maji gave a large sigh as he entered the she-wolf's den. It was a nice home, spacious enough to allow both the wolves and the deer inside comfortably. As she lit a fire, Maji lay down across from her, watching her flirt with her tail.
"Why do you do that?" Maji asked, he head tilting to one side. He was very straight forward about things that he wanted to know, and was not afraid to ask anyone anything, even if it was something personal.
As Marako came and laid down beside Maji, he could feel the tension off the buck and was concerned.
"Everything alright?" Maji asked Marako. He had never feel his friend so uptight before and it worried him.
"I'm fine. Just in a small area with a strange wolf that neither of us know, and thinks that I'm a talking tree," Marako said, sarcasm lacing his words. At this, Maji couldn't help but laugh.
"I won't let her eat you, and she'll figure out eventually that you're a buck, not a talking tree," Maji said with a laugh. He would never let his magnificent friend become anyone's dinner, and if the fae didn't know that he was a buck, then that was her own ignorance, and it would soon be dealt with.
Turning his attention back to the fae, Maji gently cleared his throat.
"So, why did you have to kill your brother? What 'changed' inside him enough for that to be the only solution?" Maji asked, his voice calmer, almost gentle as he asked the personal question. He expected an answer, no matter how heart-breaking it might be. He would of course console her if it was a horrendously terrible thing, but not otherwise. Sorry for the long post. I have a lot of muse for Maji. ^_^

Sky stared at the wolf, "Do what?" She then noticed what she was doing, and slamed her paw down on her tail. Stupid males always coming around... Up close now, she could tell that it was not a tree, but a buck, a large one at that. She stared at it, she had not eaten in days. Sky hook her head, that deer was this attractive wolves friend, she would never eat him! Again she noticed that the wolf started to talk to the deer. How weird! She thought. This wolf She thought, is not only very attractive, but smart enough to talk to buck! Sky's eyes turned from a blue to a mixture a blue and pink, making a light purple, which meant she had a crush on someone. She heard the wolf ask her about her brother. Sky took a deep breath and punged into the story she had tried so hard to forget...
"Well...he sarted out like any other pup, playfull and energetic. As we got older we got put into ranks. I was beta female and he was a fighter. He was made he got a lower rank then me, and demanded a change. When the alpha denied, he was even more deeply maddend. He was changing, I could tell. He started to kill in battle yelling, you traitor! You should have sayed with me! My pack wanted nothing to do with this, so they lowered him to omega. By this time he was so mad at this pack he started killing pups. I was the one who caught him killing one. I-I should have kept my mouth shut. After I reported to the Alpha, he killed my mate, Rock. We had had pups, beautiful pups, but he killed them to, only one escaped. Then my pack made me kill him. I-I snook up behind him and pounced, tackled him and bit his throat, that was the end for me. The owls attacked, I was driven out. I hve been many places, but this i thought...this was supposed to be the place they wouldn't find me." Sky ws standing now, she ripped open a bear pelt with one slash before sitting back down, her eyes turned to a deep purple. "I can't do it anymore, I can't do it." A tear slipped down her face, and dropped into the fire.

Maji took in the story and suddenly felt very very bad. He still didn't like the fact that he had to kill all those owls, but he hated himself more for the simple fact that he had just made this poor fae relive what she had obviously been trying so hard to forget.
I'm sorry. For making you relive that, and for acting so harshly towards you. I ask for your forgiveness," he said with a low bow of his head. Marako gave a small smile to see his friend show some emotion, finally. The anger shone to the fae was quite uncalled for in Marako's opinion, and he was glad that his friend knew when enough was enough.
The story that the she-wolf had told was a sad one and one that she had a right to forget, and now that Maji had made her relive it, Maji felt that he would help her forget it again. He had no powers to do so, nor did he have any means to do so without powers, but he would find away. He would help her forget what he had so carelessly forced her to remember even if it hurt him in the process.
"Is there anything that I can do to help ease the pain? To help you forget that awful memory that I had you drag up?" Maji asked, practically begging for some kind of redemption. Anything to help ease the burden of guilt on his shoulders. He hated the feeling. That's why he usually stayed far away from other wolves. He needed no more extra weight on his shoulders, but that story was one that he would only tell if this particular wolf asked him to. One painful story in exchange for another. ooc:: sorry for the short reply. I didn't know what else to put. >.<

SKy looked at the wolf while he was talking. "Don't worry, I forgive you." She began licking a wound in her shoulder when he spoke again. "No, there is nothing you could ever do, it is my past. I just need to forget it, forget it all." She looked down and to the side. "Even my mate." Sky said in a whisper. Sky went back to licking the wound. Her silky white and blue coat was bright red around the wound, wich she had gotten from the leader of the owls. The leader of the owls, was once her very best friend, his name was Raj. Raj and his mate had gotten away. Sky went in to the very back of her cave, were glistning armor hung on the wall. "The leader made these for me a long time ago." She put on the head armor, and then put on the battle fangs and claws. They were all gold.
OOC: NO MUSE AT ALL IN ME!!!!! NOT AT ALL!!!!!!! AARRGGHH!!!!!!!!!

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=width,400,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true] | [atrb=background,http://i.imm.io/ersG.png] Maji could only watch as the young fae cleaned her wound and murmured something about forgetting everything. He didn't quite catch what she said at the end, but it didn't matter because as he was about to ask about what she said, she got up and walked to the back of the cave where Maji saw that there was armor. It was of good quality, and made of gold-plated steel. Solid gold would only bend and break in battle and no armorsmith in their right mind would do that to someone that they were making armor for, unless they just wanted said person to die in battle.
Shaking his head of his morbid thoughts, Maji turned to Marako, a slightly worried look on his face. Why is she putting on battle armor? Maji thought to Marako. I have no idea. Best to be on our guard least she get it in her head to attack us. Marako thought back, his muscles tensing lightly while Maji's relaxed so that he was more fluid and flexible in case the fae did attack.

She sighed. "Well, I should go find another hiding place, somewhere they won't find me." Sky stood up and shook her glistening fur. "You can come if you want, if you don't, I welcome you to take my old den." She looked around her old den, it had served her well, and would do the same for these two. "Well, I better be going." She walked to the doorway, then called over her shoulder, "Follow me if you want." Sky wondered what his pups looked like, if he had any. Pups She thought, wouldn't it be nice to have some pups? Sky started to think of her old mate, he had had green eyes, and beautiful black fur. They had had two pups, one white, and one black. They had named their pups Ying and Yang. I'm on to a new life, and hopefully a new mate. Sky looked at Magi. I wonder who the lucky girl is. She sat down to see if he would come. When Sky looked down at her paws, she could see Ying and Yang, then she could here Smoke's deep laughter aren't they cute? Sky heard Smoke Say, and her lighter, happier voice say, Yeah! They'll grow up to be great fighters! The shapes faded into mist and swirled around her. A blanket of mist was now covering the ground. I'll never forget you, Smoke, and you Yang, and you Ying. She turned around to see Magi coming out of her old den. What will he say? She thought. Sky stood up, awaiting his reply.
It looked a lot longer!

Maji didn't know why he did it, but he couldn't stop himself from following the young fae out of the den. She wasn't exactly his type, but he was attracted to her for a different reason. Maybe it was because she was the first wolf he had any contact with in quite sometime. Maybe it was the way she was such a lonely soul. Either way, Maji couldn't just let her run off without someone to help protect her.
"Hey. Wait up," Maji called, trotting over to her. Stopping where she was, he sat down and looked at her, worry in his eyes.
"I'm coming with you. You need some kind of protection. Even if I can't fly, I can help you should you need it," Maji said, his voice full of concern for her safety. Marako just rolled his eyes. He knew that this was just a way for Maji to help himself get over the slaughter of the owls, but he made no comment, only smiled and gently nuzzled the fae.

Sky smiled. "I knew you going to say that." She wagged her tail. "I'll fly, you run on the ground, that way, if I miss something, you'll find it, If you miss something, I'll see it." She started walking, but then started running, and finally spread her wings and lifted into the sky. She started the tiring climb for altitude, the wind punching her, slapping her face. If only Current were here! Current was her sister, and she could control wind and water currents.
She flew against the whipping winds, every wing beat a huge effort. "How you doing down there?" She called down to Maji. Sky spotted a rotting tree with a old wolf den dug in the roots. It wasn't good enough to be a full-time den, but good enough for two or three nights. "Down there! We'll stay there tonight!" She lighted down next to Maji.
Mary ann! after you post to this, I'll make a thread in the golden forest!

Maji watched as the fae took off, beating hard with her beautiful wings. Maji couldn't remember ever seeing something that was as beautiful, but he shook the thoughts that came with that sight out of his mind. He had to be on the look out for anyone from his old pack. He was convinced that they would kill him if they were to find him. But then again, this fae was also on the run. Maybe they could run away from their past together.
All these thoughts and more went through his mind as he ran in the shadow of the wolf in the sky, and sometime later, he heard her voice drift down and tell him there was a den ahead. Smiling, he picked up his pace, stopping when he saw the den. It wasn't the best den, but he had stayed in worse. He hadn't bothered to answer her question on whether or not he was doing fine, his voice would have just been ripped away with his running. Shaking out his coat, he smiled as Marako trotted up behind him.
"And just where am I supposed to sleep?" Marako asked, noticing that there was only room for two.
"Umm. . .I can dig you a den, if you want." Maji suggested, but Marako just shook his massive rack of antlers.
"Don't bother. I'll be fine under the leaves of the forest." he said, walking away into the darkness of the forest, disappearing from view. He could tell that Marako was very jealous, but he would just have to get over it. This wolf was something else to Maji.
