Sky had forgotten about the deer. "Ummm..." Magi answered for her. "Let's check it out." She trotted into the den. It was small, but just big enough for two wolves to snuggle in. "It's good enough for a few nights." Sky looked at Magi. "I feel bad about Mariko." The light was growing dimmer outside. "Let's go watch the sunset!" She ran outside and sat down outside the den. The sunset was beautiful. The base was a deep red, next came a wonderfull purple, above that was a light, rosy pink, and finnaly came a almost transparent orange. It set Sky's white fur ablaze with color. "It's beautiful." She sighed. She looked at Magi.

Maji couldn't explain to her why Marako was upset, or why he had gone off to be alone, so he just shook his head.
"Don't worry. He'll be fine," Maji said, stretching as he got out of the den. He watched as Sky raced to see the sun set though it would be a good three or four minutes before it was gone.
Sitting next to her, Maji sighed and relaxed his muscles, keeping just the ones needed to keep him from falling activated. Even his tail went limp, falling on top of Sky's. As the sun set, Maji watched as her coat was made aflame. All the rich colors of the sunset were painted on her coat. Maji could only look at his drab colored coat and be envious.
Watching the last of the light from the sun vanish and the stars come out with more gusto, Maji turned to Sky and smiled.
"I'm tired. See you in the den?" He asked, not sure if she was actually going to sleep in the same den with him or not. He secretly hoped she would, but would rather have his horns ripped off then say it out loud.
Entering the den, Maji scooted to the far left side, giving as much room for Sky as he could. She did have wings, and as he had never before slept by a full grown wolf with wings, he did't know what would be comfortable for her and what wouldn't be.

Sky smiled back at Magi. "See you in the den." It felt odd saying this to a male wolf after so long. She watched the stars come out for a minute, then walked into the den. OOC-Sorry for short paragraph!
When she got in the den Sky found that magi was already asleep, and settle in next to him. It was nice, feeling the warmth of another wolf insstead of one of a fire. "goodnight." She whispered, and closed her eyes. It took about ten minutes for her to acually fall asleep, but when she did, she dreamt of Magi. He would be a good mate. Was the last thing she thought before slipping into a deeper sleep.
"Magi, will you watch Silver While I go and find Mariko?" It was Sky's voice, but happier, more like the one she had heard when she had seen Ying and Yang. "Sure!" Magi was speaking now. Sky saw herself trot away deeper into the woods. Magi hurddled up a silver pup with small black spots, the pup had tiny wings, and horns like Magi's. "Silver, come here!" Magi said breathlessly as the pup ran in circles around a young oak tree. There was a gun shot and a scream that came from Sky. "Mariko!" She heard herself shreik. "Noooo!" Sky heard Magi yell. Sky woke up with a start. She looked at Magi. "It was just a dream." She whispered.

Maji smiled when Sky came into the den, sighing and finally drifting off into deep sleep. His smile that he wore as he fell asleep slowly fell away as Sky moved in her sleep, influencing his own.
Running through the forest, feeling the wind pull through his fur, making a soft, low whistle as it passed through the circle in his horns. He was travelling as fast as he could, a sense of emergency influencing this. He didn't know why he was in such a hurry, only that if he didn't get there in time that something horrible was going to happen. Suddenly, he burst into a clearing. He at once saw Sky with two little pups, one white with black horns and wings that were spotted and the other without horns but with wings that were pure white to match it's mother's. This one had only one marking. A pure black crescent on its flank. Looking around, he couldn't find Marako. 'Maybe he's getting something to eat...' Maji said to himself, walking over to Sky and giving her an affectionate greeting. "Where's Marako?" He asked, when He heard a struggle and growling, then he heard a crashing in the forest off to the side. Fearing the worst, he shot off.
Starting from his dream, he looked over at Sky who was also awake. Giving her a small nuzzle, he quietly left the den, stepping out into the clearing.
"Marako! Where are you Marako?!" Maji called, concern heavy in his voice. Dawn was just peeking over the horizon, coloring everything a soft pinkish orange. He should have answered me by now. Maji thought before running over to where he saw Marako head last night. About twenty yards away, Maji saw his worst fears come to life. His best friend had just been killed in his sleep.

Sky ran out the den and lifted off in a low flight. She landed when she found mariko, lying, blood puring from a whole in his chest. "This can't be happening!" She knew what Magi was going threw. "It's going to be ok. You still have me right?" "Please?" She whipered. Sky had only known Marikoa day, but he was a very good friend while she knew him. Sky wrapped Magi's shoulder in her wing, it was quite comfortable and relaxing. She waited for him to pull away. "We'll bury him, that's what we'll do. Sky began scratching at the ground. "Come on, or do you want to howl first?" She looked at him with loving eyes. She was going to put up with any reaction he had, even if it meant he wanted her to leave, they were going to run away together. They were goning to escape their past. "We are going to get over this."

Maji felt his eyes fill with tears, the sound of Sky's voice but a murmur over the sound of blood rushing in his ears. It was as if time stood still. Lifting his muzzle, Maji let out a long howl filled with wretched sorrow, the tears falling from his eyes. His heart went with his howl, going with Marako to the spirit world.
His tears were silent, but he let out howl after howl, each one more heart-wrenching than the last. Finally, his voice gone, Maji looked over to see Sky for what seemed like the first time. She had started to dig a hole but now stopped, looking at him with loving eyes.
"Let's say a prayer for his soul. He stays above ground. His body is but a husk, and will provide nurishment to other creatures. Burying him will only make those same creatures desecrate his grave," Maji said, his voice low, tears slowly drying on his fur. He slowly stepped over to where Marako actually was, seeing up close what had happened. It looked as if a rabid animal had gotten a hold of him. His body was nearly shredded, and his majestic rack of antlers was in pieces. This must have been what made that awful crashing that woke me and Sky up. Maji thought as fresh tears came to his eyes. Sighing, he gingerly picked up a medium piece of antler, one with a fork in the antlers and took it over to Sky.
"Can you weave?" he asked, setting the antler piece in front of her. If she could, then he would have it weaved into his chest fur where everyone would be able to see it much like they had seen Marako with him. It wouldn't be the same, but he would have to deal with the emotions. He had Sky now, but as much as she could try, she would never replace Marako. No one would be able to do that.

Sky listened to Magi carefully, when he asked if she could weave, she nodded her head. "But first, let me engrave them. Tell me his story, I'll engrave it on one antler, yours on the other." She settled down, placing a firm paw on one of the antlers.
