Koa felt at ease here. The big white wolf had been moseying around the lake for a few days now, feeding off the chicks that lay on the island in the center of the green and blue water. It was a beautiful sight and when mother ducks weren't pecking his eyes out, it was quite peaceful. The morning had passed and it was early afternoon. The sun was warm and lit up everything. The trees were flaunted, their bark a rich brown, their green leaves fluttering lightly in the breeze. The water, usually green, was bright blue, incredibly contrasted against the dark green Lilly pads. Little fish could be seen swimming in large numbers, but anytime Koa set foot in the see through water, the little beings would scatter into deeper regions.
The loner was now resting in the shade of a tree, sheltered from the blazing sun. He watched the water glisten, the ducks swim around quacking their heads off. The warm air made him sleepy and he collapsed fully onto his side, stretching out in the grass. The wolf rolled onto his back and flopped around, scratching an itch and rubbing the sweet scented grass on him. He laid back onto his side and sneezed, smiling at himself. This was truly a good day so far. No other wolves were here to disturb him, he didn't feel intruded by other creatures. He was at peace.
Gggrrhhhhh. And hungry. The great white wolf gave a rather loud grunt as he stood, shaking himself, before walking into the water. The cool liquid pooled around his paws, wetting his legs. It felt good as he waded deeper, the water coming up to his chest. It didn't get any higher as he walked to the island, sending ducks flying frantically into the air. It didn't take much effort to round up the fleeing ducklings, cramming five of them into his jaws. He just barely managed to grab the last one when mama gave a cry of horror and dove at him, honking wildly. The wolf turned and ran through the water, clamping his mouth shut as far as he could--which wasn't far-- to refrain from losing his food. He escaped the angry mother and got onto the shore on the other side. Padding over to the grass, he flopped down onto his side and dropped the dead chicks. He took one and placed it between his paws, pulling out the feathers to feast.
But, like fate had planned to ruin his day, another scent caught his attention. It was close, but it was fine. It was a female. Though he would still have to guard his food. Once before had he been charmed out of his meal by a fae before and he was determined to keep this one to himself. He spit out another mouthful of feathers and scanned the area for the intruder.

``jynx;;
Jynx was already having a long day. She'd been up before the sun today, and she was definitely starting to feel it in her muscles. She'd had an unsuccessful hunt earlier and the night before nightmares plagued her mind. She had no rest in her sleep and she was dragging a bit today. She was hungry, and she'd have to hunt soon, but for now, she just wanted to sleep. She slowly padded her way through the trees, she noted that they were thinning out. She figured she was getting close to the lake, that and the sweet smell of water. She kept her limbs working under her, closer to the shore, but not too close. Her wanderings brought her to a nice grassy patch under a rather large shade tree. Her eyelids sagged at the sight of it. She happily trotted over to the spot and sank down to her hindquarters. A giant sigh of relief rolling from her maw.
A lazy breeze ruffled up the minxes fur as she sat back on her hindquarters. She was very satisfied with her shady spot, it kept her cool and provided a very relaxing breeze. She rolled over on her side and lay still, her head still up though here eyes were slowly drifting closed. She hadn't slept well the night before, and now seemed like as good a time as any to catch up on a few z's. Her eyes closed and her head slowly lolled to the side, her nose pointing to her shoulder. The sight would be quite comical to anyone passing by, but Jynx cared not. She started slipping in and out of conciousness. This was the best sleep, the sleep that came after you, that took you from your weary world and dropped you in sweet silence so you could rest. Her sides heaved slowly and evenly as she fell into sleep. She started to dream of chasing something, but she couldn't quite make out what it was. Suddenly a loud splashing sound erupted in her dreams.
The vix jolted awake, her ears flicked up and her fur bristled slightly, a low growl rumbled in her chest. The small, crimson she wolf was not alone. As she raised her drowsy body to its feet a scent caught in her nasals. Someone was near her, and Jynx was sure if they were friend or foe. She could tell that it was a male, and this made her a bit uneasy. She was a bit curious though. She lowered her ears back as the sound of an angry mother goose rang out. She let out a low whine, and glanced around. Slowly and cautiously she pressed closer to the scent and what she guessed had caused the goose to flip out. She was nervous, but she dared not show it. She would be strong and confident, no matter what the brute was like.
She gave herself this pep talk so many times, but in reality her submissive nature would get the better of her and she'd crumble. Jynx wandered closer now, close enough that she could see the large white brute laying there. He was plucking something. The smell of something delicious wafted towards her nose. She licked her maw, but decided she wouldn't try to take his food. She knew he'd probably fight, and he'd most likely win. She did pad closer, making herself clearly visible as she stopped a few yards away from the creature, respecting his space. She gave him a grin and laughed softly as he spit out a mouth full of feathers.
"Oh, sorry, didn't mean to interrupt your meal."
She gave him a polite smile, even though she knew she'd interrupt his meal before she got here, she had no idea what else to say. She wasn't completely sure why she'd approached the brute, but she was here now, and it was too late to go back.

It didn't take before the female showed herself. Instinctively, Koa huddled closer to his meal and growled defensively. She stopped before she intruded into his personal bubble, and this made Koa raise his head, watching her with his piercing brown eyes. She gave an apology and he licked his nose, getting a feather stuck to his tongue. It took him a few air licks before he managed to get the darned thing off. "It's not like I was eye deep in a fattened doe." He gave her a smiled and nodded once, "No need to fear me, fae. I pose no threat." He winked, and smirked, "But if you touch my food I'll kill you." He made sure his voice was flooded with sarcasm. In no way did he intend to harm the female, for she had approached respectfully and not tried to con him out of his meal.
He nudged a stilled chick toward her, "Take it if you'd like." On that note he nibbled on the duckling between his paws, pulling out more feathers. He glanced up at her, taking in her appearance. Well wasn't she just a fun little thing? She was uniquely colored, being red, black and white. She was fairly attractive, and those eyes of hers were beautiful. Koa smiled inwardly before returning to his plucking. "So, anonymous, my name's Koa. What brings you out here? I fear if you're searching for a pack you won't find one here."

``jynx;;
His growl didn't alarm her, she'd been expecting it. She grinned and held his gaze as he looked up at her. His yellow optics almost entraced the vix, but she fought it off. She figured it was partially because of her hunger and lack of sleep. A soft laugh shook the small, tri-colored femme's chest as the male fought to get the feather off of his tongue. She shook her head slowly and glanced down, still smiling. She glanced back up at him as he spoke. She gave him a crooked grin followed by more gentle laughter, amused by his sarcastic threat. He seemed friendly enough. The vix relaxed herself a bit and wagged her tail slightly as her soft, sweet lyircs came from her muzzle.
"Well, no worries, your food is safe. It's nice to finally meet someone I can relax around."
She sank back on her hindquarters, and smiled. It was refreshing to meet someone out here who wasn't out to harm her, or cause trouble. She was often skeptical of lone males, often they were up to no good, but something about this male made her relax. She shook the thoughts away as a small duckling was nudged in her direction. She looked at him, a bit surprised by his generosity, she couldn't help but offer him a pleasant smile.
"Oh, if you're sure. Thank you."
Her stomach growled as the food sat in fron of her, begging her to hurry up and tear into it. She stood and padded to the duckling and plucked it up in her jaws. She stepped back a foot or two and slowly slid onto her stomach, dropping the morsel to the ground between her paws. She held in place as she slowly started pulling the feathers out, one stuck to her nose and with each inhale it tickled her nose. She shook her head and sneezed, but it wouldn't come off. She whined and wiggled her nose. Finally she ran her left front paw over her nose a few times, finally the feather fluttered to the ground and she went back to plucking. Her eyes glanced up every few seconds to glance at the male. He was quite handsome, a large, white body. His eyes, there was something about them that Jynx couldn't get enough of. She smiled to herself as she worked on her meal. Her ears quirked up as he spoke, she glanced up at him, a feather falling from her muzzle. A pack? She hadn't even thought of a pack, and at the time, she wasn't really sure she wanted to be in one.
"Koa."
She said it testing the word in her own tones. She grinned and continued.
"Please, call me Jynx. I was just sort of wandering around, exploring a bit, I guess. Honestly, I don't know if I want to be in a pack, or if one would even have me if I did. But, what about you? What're you doing out here? Do you have a pack?"
She shushed herself, feeling like she was rambling and bombing him with questions. She quietly went back to working on her food, plucking more feathers. She hated this part of hunting and eating. Plucking and such almost made her want to eat grass, but then again... the flavor would be worth it.

The white wolf tilted his head slightly when she said his name. Puzzled, he waited for her to ask him something, but then realized she was just testing out the name. When she smiled, he locked eyes with her. Jynx. What an interesting name. It suited her, just by looks alone. That often didn't work unless the name had a meaning, but for her, it worked. Like himself, Koa, in a different language, meant soldier. And, Koa being himself, was a fighter who didn't give up on things he wanted. He would fight and give his life to protect the ones he holds dear. Perhaps Jynx meant something in a different language. Or it was just a cool name.
He put a pin in the thought and kept his attention on the fae when she continued. He nibbled on his tongue before ripping out another wad of feathers. Why wouldn't a pack take her in? She seemed nice enough, but after all, Koa had only known her for a few minutes. He didn't know a thing about her other then her name. "Me?" He asked, glancing up as a breeze shifted the leaves, leaving him in the sun for a split second. "I had come here to relax and get away from others. Please do not take that the wrong way, I'm not displeased that you are here." After clearing that up right quick, he licked his maw and glanced down. His chick was ready to be eaten, but he would answer before he stuffed his face, acting the complete opposite of a gentlemen. "I have no pack because I'm not one to be tied down to commitment. I left mine after an accident and haven't bothered to find companions or a new pack after that." He nibbled on the bird, peeling away skin and muscle. It was still warm and he gobbled up the small piece, giving his muzzle a good swipe with his tongue.
"I wasn't exploring much, as you are, more so getting myself lost in the world." He smiled at nothing in particular before inhaling and sighing deeply. This triggered a yawn but he clamped his teeth hard to avoid letting it escape. A loud honk startled the wolf and he turned his head to see the mother of the chick he had stolen swimming around close to the shore. Her eyes locked on his and for a moment, he was sure she would explode from the water and come after him. Koa wasn't in a fighting mood, so he would most likely get his butt owned to him by a bird. The thought of this made him chuckle and he turned his attention back to the tri colored fae in front of him. "So, Jynx, have you any companions to return to by nightfall? Or are you on your own as I am?"

``jynx;;
She would have blushed had she been able as the male tilted his head. She felt silly for just blurting his name out like that. She studied the male more as she worked on the chick, most of its feathers were gone now. Her stomach growled louder in anticipation. It was begging her to tear into the bird. Soon Jynx would give in, and soon her stomach would settle its growling. His named seemed fitting for him, though the fae had no idea what it meant, she was sure it fit him somehow. She just was lukcy her mother actually gave her a decent name, and for that the wench was thankful. WHen Jynx had asked her about her name her mother would not really tell her why, but others from her childhood told her bad things happened when the fae was around. She glanced down at the duckling in front of her and plucked at its few remaining tufts of plumage, wondering if what the elders had said was true. She quickly shook the thoughts away and shook a wad of feathers from her mouth and reached down for more.
Her maw curled into a smile as he nibbled on his tongue. She snuck a glance up at him as she tugged the feathers and then looked down again. He seemed a bit confused by her words. She could have told him her history with packs, how things seemed to go wrong and it was always blamed on her, but she decided he would probably tuck tail and run if he found out about that. Jynx never did anything bad to cause things to happen, it just always seemed that when she was around things went south. She sighed and perked up as he spoke to her. A light breeze ruffled up her fur and she shook her head slowly, a chill running down her spine.
"Oh, no. I understand what you mean completely. It's nice to get away sometimes, I hate that I intruded."
She offered him an 'I'm sorry' smile and looked back to her chick, tenderly working out the last few feathers as he spoke. She looked up once more, a feather blowing from her muzzle.
"Oh, that makes sense. I'm sorry to hear that."
She offered another apologetic look and then glanced down at her meal. The feathers were gone and her stomach was aching, it needed the food. Jynx delicately tore the skin and pulled off a muscley piece of the dead chick. She chewed it and licked her tongue over her muzzle. She chewed a bit more and turned to look out over the water, enjoying the relaxing sound of the water. She swallowed the morsel down and turned to grab another bite, this time a bit larger now that her stomach had a taste of meat. She turned to look at him as he spoke. She swallowed her food and nodded, smiling warmly at the male. She was about to speak when all of the sudden the mother of their meal appeared behind them. Jynx stayed silent, but watched the goose carefully, preparing to run. Her ears quirked up as he spoke once more.
"I have no one to go to. Just me, myself, and I out here. Koa, do think you might ever want to find someone or a pack again?"
She spoke out of genuine curiousity, but as soon as the words left her lips she wished they hadn't. She feared he would think she was insinuating they travel together, and while Jynx wouldn't mind the company, she felt as though that would be a bit off-putting. Seeing as how the two didn't know much about wach other at all. She quietly went back to eating her duckling, finishing off the last of it. She nudged the remains away from her a bit and licked the blood from her muzzle. She shifted her weight, tucking her left front paw under her chest. She glanced at the water again and before she could stop it a small yawn left her muzzle. She wasn't bored, and she hoped the male wasn't offended, she just hadn't been sleeping well. She gave him a nervously apologetic look, for the yawn and her possibly awkward question from earlier. She swayed her tale gently out behind her. She felt a bit embarassed and more shy than usual, but that was Jynx, always thinking the worst and second guessing herself. She shook her head again and glanced at the male.

Koa was rather surprised by her question. He glanced up at the bright green leaves, pondering it. "I haven't given it much thought. But the idea has been brought up a few times." He took a bite of his food, chewed, and swallowed before giving a sort of devilish grin. "Are you implying anything?" He teased, casting his gaze straight toward her. He looked into her eyes, waiting for an answer before he randomly smiled and returned to his meal. It didn't take long before he cleaned the small duckling of anything edible, and even then, he nibbled on the bones. He wasn't one for marrow, which always made him weird according to his sister, Lexi.
That thought struck a nerve deep in his heart. Koa blinked slowly and looked at the remains in his lap. A sudden image flashed to the front of his mind. The pounding of hooves, a flash of brown. Koa seemed to blink and everything changed. He was watching his sister skid across the ground, trying to stop and turn around to run. A sudden pair of hooves collided with her head and on impact, her skull was crushed in. The image played itself so vividly in his mind that he startled himself from his day terror. Before he had time to apologize for glazing over, the mother goose had threw herself out of the water and was on top of him.
The sudden attack startled him and Koa yelped as he was bit and pecked in the face. He jumped up quickly and tried backing up, but the large bird went at him, beating him with her wings. Koa's first instinct was to run, but him being him, he wasn't much for listening. After throwing himself backward and being stabbed a few more times, Koa threw his paw up and swatted the bird on the chest. She jumped back but went at him again but he had time and dodged her blow before jumping on top of her. He collapsed on top of it, holding the hollering mother's neck down with his paw and her body with his broad chest. He took one look at Jynx and burst out laughing. "This has never happened to me before," He choked, shaking his head in pure amusement. Now what to do? His laughter died to a chuckle and he thought of what to do. If he let the hen up, she would attack him or Jynx. If he killed her, it would be a waste of food. Koa rolled his eyes and himself and lowered his rump to the ground, still holding the bird down. "Any suggestions?" He asked with an amused smile.

``jynx;;
She felt her cheeks grow warm as he teased her. She gave him a shy grin. She felt like a dunce for bringing it up in ther first place. She wouldn't mind having company, but to expect that would be crazy, and she didn't. She didn't know the wolf and who knows what he might be capable of. He was so much larger than she. Jynx gave him a smile and sighed playfully.
"Well, no. I mean, not that I wouldn't mind having you aorund. I mean, I'm not.. I wasn't.."
The fae sighed and gave up, laughing softly to herself. She always rambled on like that. She looked up,m about to say something else before she noticed a troubled look on Koa's face. He looked sad, and a bit dazed. Jynx tilted her head slightly, wondering what was going on in his head. She crawled closer to him and whined, trying to snap him out of it. She was so focused on him that she hadn't noticed the mother. Just as he seemed to come to the mother of their dinner had flung herself onto him. Jynx jumped up, so startled that her tail spark and was covered in flames. She finally calmed herself down, once she realized it was just a large angry bird. Her tail slowly extinguished itsself and she stood ready to jump in if Koa needed. He managed to gain the upper hand and now had awkwardly pinned the mother down. Jynx was laughing nervously. Most didn't take kindly to her flaming tail and she hope Koa would over look it, if he had noticed it at all.
Jynx grinned as he chuckled. She gazed at him, perched on top of the thrashing bird. It just dawned on her how much larger than her he was. She took in his size a moment before she realized he had asked her something.
"Hmmm. We should probably just run, she can't catch us and we can loose her in the trees if she flies. We just have to book it at first."
She watched the bird thrash around. She was honking and trying her best to get up and get Koa back for killing her babies. Who could really blame her though? Jynx was sure she worked hard on raising them. Jynx shook the thoughts from her mind and looked back at Koa.
"Think your fast enough?"
Jynx teased him playfully, wearing a big grin the whole time. She wagged her tail lightly, and glanced over her shoulder to figure out a path once they did run. She found a relatively straight shot to the forrest. She was just waiting for Koa to make a move.

Koa hadn't seen Jynx's tail ignite, but he did smell the familiar scent of fire. This made him look up to see if somehow a wild fire had started but there was no such thing. Odd...He would ask later. His ears perked up and he gave an amused nod and looked down at the aggravated bird. He nosed her neck in an attempt to comfort her but she somehow whipped her head around and promptly bit him on the nose. This made him yelp but the pain went away just as quickly as it came. He glanced up at Jynx, making eye contact before giving her a impish grin. "I don't have to outrun her, I just have to out run you." On that note, Koa jumped to the right and made a B-line into the trees, straight past Jynx.
The angry bird, of course, took off after them and Koa jumped randomly, laughing at the bird as she tried to catch up. Of course if it went for Jynx he would aid her, it wasn't like he was going to watch it attack her. He was more of a...gentlemen. Hah! The white wolf, still having a giggle fit mentally over this whole shindig, gained speed as he entered the trees, glancing back once to make sure Jynx was close. When he turned around there was a thicket that stood in his way. Focusing his energy on it, he used a burst of magic to spread the thorns to avoid being pricked. He had a nice open walk way that he tore through, praising himself mentally for gaining more control over his powers. Koa didn't run for much longer because he knew the mother hen couldn't dodge all the trees. The wolf spun and stopped broadside, his pink tongue lolled out of his mouth. He panted for a few seconds before licking his muzzle and collapsing onto his side in the grass.
"Well that was fun," He said with a wink, rubbing his back on the green blades. He rolled onto his belly and looked up, the sun almost blinding him instantly. Well that wasn't going to work. Koa forced the branches to stretch, making the leaves grow wider, which in the end, provided the two with a nice bout of shade. A smug little grin spread itself on his maw, as he felt somewhat like a super star for boasting his powers as he did. His smacked his tongue against the roof of his mouth before speaking, "Can you harness magic?"

``jynx;; Jynx was releived that the male had just missed her tail extinguishing. She was very self concious of her magic and often times tried to hide it from other wolves. Her odd coloring was enough to draw attention to her, she didn't need any help from the whole flaming tail business.Jynx fought back a giggle as he nosed the bird's neck, knowing he would soon regret it. She could not longer fight back a laugh as the aggrivated bird turned and bit him. Jynx felt bad for laughing, but she couldn't stop, and besides, Koa seemed fine. Her lips curled into a playful grin as he spoke to her. So that's how it was gonna be, huh? She grinned and turned to run as he darted past her, the bird was close behind her and Jynx swatted it with her tail as she ran. Her legs worked seamlessly underneath her as she ran. The chilli air pushed its way into her fur, cooling her warm body as she ran. Her tongue lolled out of her mouth and she yipped excitedly as Koa jumped about. She giggled to herself and moved along, enjoying the feeling, she felt free, finally free. Jynx had caught up to Koa, she was content to stay behind him and follow. She matched his speed and she watched his muscles work under his white fur. She glanced back too see the bird fading into the distance and kept running. Her muscles worked to pull her small frame along, she was giddy and couldn't stop gigling. She felt like a pup again and she loved it.Her fur danced along as the wind moved through it and she watched Koa and something happened. He seemed to focus on a thicket before the two, and suddenly it parted. Jynx gasped and almost lost her balance. She stumbled a bit, but quickly regained her composure and followed him into the thicket. She slowed her pace and skidded to a halt as he stopped. Jynx panted and licked over her muzzle. She grinned at him as he spoke and walked around the small clearing and then finally wandered over to him and folded her legs, collapsing onto her tummy. She had rolled over onto her side, putting a bit more space between them. She had her back to him and twisted her head around to look at him. He was gazing up at the sun, Jynx noticed the shadows growing on his face. She glanced up quickly to see the leaves growing out to cover the sun. Jynx smirked. Her ears quirked up as he spoke. She could barely control her powers yet. She had only discovered it recently. She rolled onto her back and stretched her paws toward the sky as she spoke. "Well, I can't really control it very well yet, but I do possess magic. As of now though, it's just controlled by my emotions. What about you?"
She already figured he could manipulate nature or something of that sort. She relaxed her paws and twisted her hips to the side and curled her tail over her hips. She scooted around on the grass and sighed happily. A gentle breeze rolled over her fur. She looked up at him again, giving him a warm, upside-down grin. "So, Koa. Tell me about yourself." She rolled over on her side, facing him and she finally rolled onto her tummy. She looked at him as she stretched her body out again. Her tail lifted up and stretched out a bit too, she relaxed and shivered slightly.[/blockquote]

Koa watched Jynx roll around and get comfortable. She stretched, and then spoke about her being able to manipulate magic. This made him even more interested in her and he perked his ears to show his peaked curiosity. He nibbled on his knee to scratch an itch before answering. “I can manipulate the earth to do as I please. I can make rivers shallow, force trees to grow, and recently I’ve figured out how to move and create rocks. I can’t form water or change it, which is annoying.” He rolled onto his back and gave himself a good scratch before moving onto his belly and dragging his tail across the ground. The white wolf looked at her with those black rimmed rich brown eyes of his. He smiled and decided to tease her, just to see her reaction. “Well, I’m an irresistibly handsome and charming. Wouldn’t you agree?” He gave her a smile to let her know he was just fooling around. Sure he had good looks, but he wasn’t much for flaunting.
“I’ve been traveling for the past couple years, following food.” He glanced up, locking eyes with a particularly large green leaf. “I don’t have the best past, but I’d rather not talk about it.” He gave a halfhearted smile, “Bad memories.” The white wolf looked back to where they came; longing to go back and try to gather the other three chicks he had stolen. The thought made his stomach growl, as he was not full. “I don’t really have much interesting about me, other than my dashing good looks, of course.” He rolled onto his back and gave Jynx an upside down awkward smile. “Though my looks hardly compare with yours. You are truly quite beautiful. I’ve never seen another with such…unique coloring.” Yes, I guess you could say Koa was flirting, and only because he was naturally attracted to females. You can’t blame nature, can you? Even though he wasn’t a wolf that liked commitment, that didn’t mean he couldn’t have interests. And after all, breeding was built into his system. More so than a female, he thought. Males were the ones that made it all happen, and in reality if you think about it, that’s the only true goal a male wolf has in mind. Breeding, breeding breeding.
Now no, this does not mean Koa was thinking about it. He just met the fae a few minutes ago! He was physically attracted by her looks, and that was it. For now at least. “Well, with my boring short story aside, what about you? Have any interest to share yourself with a stranger?” Again, he was sarcastic. He didn’t trust the female, but he could see themselves being friends in the future. Perhaps more, but that was far away.

``jynx;; She listened closely as he spoke and nooded slowly. His powers seemed rather interesting, especially compared to Jynx's flaming tail. She grinned at him as he chewed on his knee. She yawned slowly and licked at her front leg a bit to smooth down some stray hairs before looking back at him to speak. "That is very interesting. My sets itsself on fire when I feel threatened or scared. I can also stretch it to any length I wish."
She spoke softly, her eyes darkened a few shades, a bit embarassed of her lack of control of such a simple power. "I hope to some day be able to just do it at will, but I can't seem to get a handle on it yet." She watched him roll over and wiggle against the ground. She smiled and her eyes lightened a bit, she laughed softly. She gazed back into his eyes with her own plae gray orbs. She listened to his next words and began to laugh quietly, lowering her head a bit. She licked over her muzzle as she quieted her laughter and looked up at him. "I'd be a fool not to agree." she gave him a taunting smirk and twisted her head around to gnaw at her shoulder, she then licked the fur down and glanced back towards the male. She listened to his story and nodded slowly. She frowned slightly, she hadn't meant to bring up any bad or painful memories. She looked down. "I apologize for bringing up any painful memories." She gave him an apologetic grin and her ears quirked as he glanced away. She followed his eyes and tilted her head slightly, unaware of what he was looking at. She turned her eyes back to him. She gazed up at the leaves stirring gently in the calm breeze. She closed her eyes and sighed happily, enjoying the weather. She smiled as he spoke and lowered her eyes back to the male before her. "Oh, of course." She smiled at him as he rolled around. She felt her cheeks grow warm again as he complimented her looks. She smiled timidly at him and spoke teasingly at him. "Oh, I'm sure you say that to all the girls." She brought her tail up next to her and swayed the end of it gently, smiling at him. "But I do thank you for the compliment." She yawned and suddenly sneezed into her folded front legs. She shook her head and smiled. He was quite the charmer, and he had looks. Jynx licked her muzzle slowly and glanced down for a moment. His words flowed into her ears and she galnced up at him as he spoke, thinking about what he had asked her for a moment. Jynx really didn't have anything interesting she wanted to share, she had a bit of a past, but she wasn't really ready to talk about all of that yet. She had just met this male and didn't want to tell him too much, or frighten him. Jynx smiled and turned her head away before she spoke softly. "Well, I've been in and out of a few packs, but none of them worked out. Now I just kind of wander where ever I please, do what I want, and all of that fun stuff. So, nothing just too terribly interesting I suppose." She looked back to him as she finished talking, a small smirk on her face. Her pale gray eyes lightened a few shades and were almost white. He some how kept her in a decent mood, Jynx liked that. Most males put her on edge and she couldn't relax around them, but Koa didn't send her into a flaming frenzy. Jynx didn't know why, but she didn't care. She just rolled over on her side and enjoyed his company while he would allow it. She wagged her tail slowly and looked around them.[/blockquote]

Koa laughed when she accused him of commenting on the beauty of all the females he’d come in contact with. “Ah, no, m’lady,” He smirked at her, “Only the ones who have true beauty do I tell them.” The white wolf flexed his muscles in his shoulders as he sat up, dragging his tail across the ground to touch his leg. He tilted his head slightly when she turned her head away before she started to talk. What was bothering her? He sat quietly, listening to her speak of her past. He looked down at the grass, commanding a single blade to grow and stretch up to equal his height. It was out of pure boredom, and he had to keep his powers flowing to keep it from falling over. He watched it dance in the air, trying to fight gravity. When his eyes shifted from the blade to her, he was almost startled to see her eyes were white.
“Your eyes change color?” As the words left his mouth the grass blade shriveled in front of him then fell, dead. Oops. Koa glanced down at it, the only brown in the green. How unsightly. He didn’t bother to right it but instead looked back up to the fae. For a moment he watched her tail wag, then let his eyes travel up to her eyes, which weren’t fixed on him. She was looking around, and this caused him to break the contact to see if she saw anything. He didn’t see anything out of the ordinary but looked once again longingly back to the lake. He really was hungry…maybe he could run back and shield himself with foliage so the mother wouldn’t see him. Thinking of sinking his teeth into another warm chick made him lick his muzzle. His belly decided for him and he stood, looking back and smiling at Jynx. “I’m going to go suicide myself.” He took a step away before realizing how bad that could have sounded. Koa looked back and locked eyes with the tri colored fae, “I’m going to go try and get my meal back. Wait here.”
He didn’t want to have to worry about watching Jynx and protecting her from the angry fowl. The wolf set off at a trot but broke into a run, covering ground fast. Koa stopped at the base of the trees and stood quietly, ready to make a mad dash for his food. His eyes scanned the area. She wasn’t here. Oh happy day! This made him walk in a more relaxed fashion to the three remaining chicks. He crammed them all into his mouth and turned to leave when he froze. Oh dear god. There she was, standing in the path of his escape. The bird had her wings spread and she was hissing terribly. The wolf growled and bit down hard on the babies, not ready to give them up again. An idea struck him suddenly. What if he just ran her over? Worth a shot. And then, he was off like a bullet, charging the mother who was ready to attack him.
Somehow, she managed to trip the wolf with her solid wings and Koa stumbled, his chest hitting the ground, but he got up and kept running. A sharp pain hit his tail and he whipped around to defend himself. The damn bird had a hold of his tail! The white wolf commanded the closest shrub to stretch and slam down on the fowl. It happened before he could blink and she was trapped under the bush. Serves you right. He thought angrily, clamping his jaws harder on the three chicks deliberately making their blood spill out the sides of his mouth in front of her. He left the wild bird there and found Jynx, this time, his neck had been dabbed with their blood. Oh well. Koa flopped onto his side and spit the birds out, not wanting to eat if he was covered in the crimson liquid. He glanced up as he groomed himself, giving the fae a smirk. “I did it.”

``jynx;; Jynx grinned at him, her cheeks warm again. She rubbed the side of her face against the ground, trying to scratch an itch. She sneezed again as a blade tickled her nose. She glanced up at him as he finished speaking, rolling over on her back then her tummy. She shook her head. ."Well, I thank you."
She watched his muscles work under his pelt as he sat himself up. She looked up at him and watched him stretch the blade of grass. She stared as it danced in front of her. her eyes following its movements. She smiled slightly. Suddenly the male locked eyes with her and he seemed a bit surprised. She cocked her head to the side and quirked her ears. Had she done something? Jynx lowered her head slightly, unaware of what he was shocked about. She was about to ask when a question came from Koa's maw. She grinned and laughed softly. . "Oh, yes, they change based on my mood." She grinned sheepishly and blinked her eyes slowly. She jumped slightly as the grass collapsed in front of her. She frowned down at the dead blade of grass. The pale orbs studied the grass for a while. She wasn't really sure why she was so fixated on the grass, but she couldn't look away. She sighed heavily and shook herself out of it. She let her eyes wander up to the male. Koa was staring back toward the lake, she grinned as he licked his tongue over his muzzle. Someone was still hungry. Jynx never ate much, but then again she was weird. Most wolves at more than one baby bird. Her eyes went wide as he spoke. She tilted her head, confused. Her eyes darkened and went a bit blue, confused by what he meant. She watched him move away before he stopped. She looked up, locking eyes with him. His words calmed her and her eyes lightened back up a few shades. . "I was worried. Good luck, I'll be here." She watched him trot away, she smirked and hauled herself up onto her feet. She stretched her front limbs out. This made her chest lay flat on the ground for a few seconds. Her back gave a satisfying pop, she inched her way back up. She padded silently around the small clearing. Her eyes scanned the area. A small dragonfly caught her attention. Jynx cocked her head. She thought it was odd to see one of those this time of year, but she shrugged it off. She grinned and moved closer, slowly stalking the small bug. She jumped up at it, but missed. She whined and sat under it, watching it closely. It was flying just out of her reach, almost like it was taunting her. She growled and raised up on her hind legs and swatted at it, but she just couldn't reach. She sighed and stood still, watching the tiny creature float about. Jynx tilted her head as it inched closer to her. Jynx lowered her body to the ground and waited. The bug got a bit to close and Jynx launched into the air swiping her paws at it, but she missed. She sighed and gave up, watching the dragonfly take off and disappear. She quirked her ears as she heard the sound of movement. Jynx grinned as she saw the large white male pad back toward her, his mouth full of baby chicks. She giggled and watched him lay over and pop the birds out of his mouth. She padded over to him and sat slowly watching him clean the blood from his fur. She tilted her head, a bit concerned. . "That's not your blood is it?" She didn't see any obvious wounds, but she wanted to make sure. She felt odd for even asking about it. She wasn't usually one to care about someone she barely knew, especially their wounds. She glanced at the dead chicks and noticed how bloody they were. She nodded slowly, realizing the blood must have come from them. She smiled at Koa. . "Oh nevermind." She spoke softly, grinned timidly again. She licked over her muzzle and shook her head.[/blockquote]

Koa shook his head at her question and continued to lick his chest. He watched her survey him and looked back down when she figured out it wasn’t him. Good girl. The metal taste wasn’t exactly something the white wolf loved and it was starting to get tiring. But he pushed through, staining his fur a saturated light pink color. He’d go roll around in some water to finish up the job later. Giving his maw one more good lick, he sighed heavily, nudging a chick toward Jynx in an offering. If she didn’t want it, then that was fine. He could care less if she wanted to eat in front of him. He noticed females were weird like that. They never wanted to eat a lot in front of males. Pfft, girls are weird. The brute turned his head and pulled his tail closer, assessing the damage. He nudged the nip of his tail where the goose had ripped out some hair. It would grow back eventually. But now, time to focus on what he really wanted.
The wolf pulled a chick between his paws and fell back into his plucking routine. Bite, pull, spit, sneeze. Bite, pull, spit, spit. Spit…spit. Koa had to scratch his tongue with his paw to get the feather off. This’ll teach him not to go for birds anymore. Even if the meat was good. He laid in silence as he plucked and was finally able to tear into the young fowl. After gobbling down a few pieces, he was ready to talk. “Here’s some advice. Don’t bother with chicks.” He chuckled, but it was more of a growl then anything. He truly did hate birds. They annoyed him, screaming unnecessarily all the time. And they’d hover. Ohh, how Koa hated when they hovered. Koa quickly ate anything edible off the chick before tossing the bones aside.
Yes he was still hungry, since two small chicks weren’t going to fill him up. He’d go find a rabbit or something later. He looked up at Jynx, gazing into her pale eyes with his rich chocolaty ones. “Mood affects the color of your eyes you say? I find that rather fascinating.” He tilted his head, watching to see if his words had any effect on the color. The white wolf looked to his left, gazing into the forest. It seemed like it was never ending, and it was quite beautiful. And then, he looked to his right. The same thing, endless woodland. Was there an end? Did the forest ever end? Koa himself had been in the woods all his life, narrowly avoiding elk in his years. Oh those blasted creatures. Roaming the earth as if they deserve to be here. They have no right breathing the same air as Koa, walking the same ground. They deserve to be sent to hell. No, that would be a privilege. They should ever have come to existence. The more Koa thought about it, the darker his eyes got in anger. The thought of tearing every one of those damn things apart was unbearable, and it almost pained him. He desperately wanted to kill every single elk that walked the planet.
Koa glared at the forest, his jaws pressing together tightly, his face showing anger. Those stupid, pathetic beings! How dare they live while his sister is dead. How dare they survive unharmed. The white wolf didn’t realize it but he had clenched his teeth down so hard that he had bit into his tongue and it was bleeding. He absently licked at the air and swallowed down the coppery taste, still raging mentally.

``jynx;; Jynx was a bit embarassed by her questioning. She should have looked closer before opening her mouth. She usually wouldn't have even asked, what was going on with her today? She shook the thoughts from her mind and sat still in front of the male. Her eyes remained the same color despite her slight embarassment. She watched him lick the blood to faded pink stains. She watched him nudge the chick towards her. She didn't want to seem rude, but she really wasn't hungry. She was weird like that, she didn't need much food. She pondered this for a moment, eyeing the chick. She didn't know when she would eat again so she decided it might be wise to eat it. She wasn't just super full anyways and she didn't want to be rude, so she asked him just to make sure. She smiled a warm smile. "Are you sure you don't want it? If you're still hungry then you can have it."
She watched as he examined his tail, a bald patch where the mother had latched on. A small giggle came from her maw as he nosed the bald spot. She tried to hide it from Koa. Koa pulled the chick to him and started tearing its feathers out. Jynx watched him pull and spit the feathers out. Her eyes wandered around back toward the lake, she couldn't see it through the trees, but she could hear the soft sounds of the water moving and waves crashing. She could also her geese flapping and honking. She tilted her head at the sounds, listening to nature. She smiled and glanced back at Koa who was currently trying to get a feather off of his tongue. Jynx giggled at him and sank down onto her tummy. She curled her tail up next to her and nibbled the end of it briefly. She smiled as he offered her his advice. "Oh, but it seems to be going so well for you." Sarcasm laced words came from her mouth and she smiled at him as he finished of his bird and tossed it aside. Her eyes gazed back into his as he spoke, her eyes lightened to a gray so pale you could barely make out her iris from her whites. She felt her cheeks grow warm again and smiled bashfully. "It gets me in trouble sometimes, or gives me away." It was true. Jynx could rarely pretend to be apathetic about things. Her eyes gave her away everytime, if someone told her something that made her happy they lightened up instantly. If she was bored they would go very dull gray and if she is sad they go very dark blue-gray. They rarely go black, but if that happens someone is in major trouble, for that was when she was angry, or well, past angry. That's when Jynx would abandon her natural runner instinct and fight, or try to kill something. She rarely got this way though, and she hoped it stayed that way. She followed his gaze into the forest and got lost in the endless trees. She stared even as he looked away. She felt incredibly small in this moment and it gave her and odd fuzzy feeling. She swayed her tail along the ground absent mindedly and imagined herself weaving through those trees. Running. She loved to run. Especially when she had trees to weave around and dodge. She visualized herself diving around the trees and jumping over fallen ones. Her mind worked as she imagined. She finally snapped herself out of it and glanced over to Koa. Something was different about him. She noticed his jaw clenching shut, his face went dark and he seemed angry. Jynx's eyes went from white to gray instantly. She whined softly and watched him for a few minutes. As he licked at the air she noticed the blood. She swallowed hard and inched closer to him. "Koa? Koa, what's wrong?" She didn't touch him in fear of him lashing out at her. She sat still before him and her ears drooped. She wasn't sure what was wrong but something had pissed him off. Jynx looked at him, her eyes scanning his face. [/blockquote]

Koa's ear twitched at Jynx's whine but he didn't acknowledge her. The thoughts kept streaming through his mind, making his fur bristle at the peak of his anger. He had to do something, he had to let his anger out on something. The white wolf couldn't hold back a snarl when the fae crawled closer. In no means was he angry at her, but he just couldn't help himself. Their giant brown bodies danced tauntingly in his mind and he pictured himself ripping out their throats. The more he thought about it, the more he let his powers out. Tree roots started ripping themselves out of the ground. The tree branches above them started to sway and rattle, shedding their leaves and limbs. One crashed down to their left, but Koa didn't flinch.
His eyes glazed over as he fell into his thoughts. He relived that dreadful day in his mind, watching his beautiful sister move with all her power and strength. And it was all taken away in a split second. What once was a healthy, smart, living creature, was a pile of crushed bones and guts. How was that possible? Where did they go? By this point the forest was practically screaming. Giants trees were creaking as they rocked dangerously back and forth, the ground trembled as things fell and shifted.
Koa's eyes flicked over to Jynx. She was closer, ears lowered. She almost looked afraid of him. Was she? Almost immediately did Koa calm his powers, asking the forest to quiet itself. And just like that, everything was still. Everything was quiet, and peaceful once again. The brute now forced himself to sooth his mind, and tried to picture other things. The first thing that popped into his head was the fae in front of him. Tch, of all things. Koa shook his head slowly, scoffing half-heartedly. "Nothing's wrong. I'm fine." His voice was harsh and cold, but he hadn't meant it to be. He glanced up at the fae, his ears shifting as he tried to pick up signs she gave away. The wolf looked to the right, breathing deeply to let the anger wash out. He forced his voice to be softer, "Did I startle you?" The fury in his eyes died out when he locked his gaze on Jynx's orbs. "I apologize."

``jynx;; Jynx watched him, unsure of what to do. She whined again, trying to get him out of it, but she couldn't do it. As he snarled at her Jynx lowered her head, her tail tucked gently between her legs. She stayed close unsure of what was happening with Koa. She jumped as the tree roots were snapping out of the ground, her tail erupted into a flaming whip. She growled and her head swiveled her eyes taking in everything. Koa was doing this, she knew trees didn't act this way on their own. Jynx barked at Koa, her tail dancing behind her a beautiful sight of flames. He wouldn't snap out of it, Jynx managed to calm her tail and the flames died out. She huddled close to him as the tree fell.
Her eyes went dark blue, a hint of gray mixed in. She closed her eyes and sighed, waiting for this to stop or for him to tear into her. She licked her muzzle slowly, her body shivering. She was afraid. She didn't know how to fix this or make it stop. Her ears drooped and her warm tail curled up next to her. She whined again doing anything she could to try and snap him out of it. She risked a glance up at him and watched his eyes. They looked a bit absent, as if he were lost in thought.
She looked back into his eyes and tried to pick any emotion she could from his. Her dark blue/gray optics scanned his face and she quirked her ears as the forest went silent again. She listened to him scoff and speak, her ears locked onto him. She tilted her head, eyes confused by his harsh tone. Koa, are you sure everything is okay? No one did things like this for no reason. Her dark eyes looked around at the damage, she whimpered softly as she looked back at him, he was talking to her. He had scared her, she was still a bit frightened. She looked back into his orbs and forced a weak smile. No, I'm f-fine. She cursed silently as her voice trembled, ugh real convincing Jynx. She looked down, trying to think if happy thoughts so her eyes would lighten up, for she couldn't lie with those things. He would see her sadness, she couldn't hide it.
Ooc, sorry it's short, I'm a bit under the weather.

Koa nodded and forced himself to smile at her. "Every thing's alright. Just some bad memories got stirred up." The white wolf licked at his muzzle and wished for the coppery taste of blood to leave his mouth. The foul taste was clinging on and it would take a great bout of water to rid himself of it. Jynx whimpered and he looked over at her quickly. He kept eye contact with her as she spoke and almost instantly he felt ten tons of guilt shove itself down his throat. Her voice was trembling and she was looking down. Ugh, great Koa. Way to be a gentleman. You never were a gentleman. Yes I was. No you weren't. The brute stopped the self argument and dragged his body across the ground to get closer. So much for personal space, he thought, as he reached out and touched her forehead gently with his nose.
When he pulled away her perked his ears forward and looked at her with half lidded eyes. "You don't need to be scared. You needn't fear me or my powers." He smiled at her and gave a wag of his tail to reassure her. "I don't have the full upper hand over magic and it sometimes gets the better of me. It almost has a mind of its own, and it can do things without me asking." He nodded at the broken tree limb to their left. "That, for example. I didn't will for the forest to behave in such a violent manner, but..." Koa stopped and glanced at his paws, tinted pink from the blood. "My emotions set it off. Please understand I feel no anger nor hatred toward you in any way. In fact, I quite enjoy your presence."
That was true enough. Sure Koa was one of the lone wolf type of guys, but he did get lonely from time to time. He wasn't one to find companions or keep them for that matter because he figured they would just slow him down. But, there were always certain exceptions to that, right? Koa's ears twitched back and he gave a gentle whine of reassurance. "I truly am sorry. I do not wish for you to be afraid."

``jynx;; Gray, storm cloud eyes looked back at Koa, the tricolored she wolf had tried to hide them and tried to act like she was fine. Truth was that she was a bit scared. She had seen what his power could do, but she wasn't afriad of Koa, just his powers when he lost control. Orbs moved up to the male as he spoke and she nodded slowly, her eyes drifting back down again. Bad memories had caused it, not her. Jynx sighed, relieved that she hadn't been the cause of his inner rage. Ears drooped a bit against her skull and she tried her best to pull herself together. She closed her eyes and focused, trying to think of something to say to the male to assure him that she was okay, that it wasn't him she was afraid of. Just as she was about to lift her head to speak a cool surface pressed against her forehead. Jynx opened her eyes and looked up at Koa as he pulled away. The storm had left her eyes and left pale gray behind. The now pale optics scanned over his face as his ears locked onto her. She smiled a genuine smile up at him. Her own ears fixated on the large, white wolf as he spoke to her. His tail wagged behind him and she grinned, her own tail swaying a bit. No sound came from her maw as he spoke. She let him say what he wanted to say. She lay close to him and listened, her eyes constantly scanning his face for any hints of anger or pain. Jynx was fairly sure he had more of a handle on his magic than she. Her's was purely emotion at this point. She couldn't will for her tail to explode into fire. It simply happened when she was angry or felt threatened. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't get a handle on it. Her head cocked to the side as he tilted his down. She was relieved he enjoyed her company, because honestly she enjoyed his. She had been alone for a while now since her last pack kicked her out, and it was nice to have someone around who wasn't mean, or trying to hurt her. Jynx wagged her tail slowly, her head tilting back normal. Her ears quirked a bit as she heard him whine before speaking. She inched closer, unsure of what he would do. She stretched her neck out slowly and traced the top of her muzzle along his chin. Words came from her lips as she pulled away from him, her eyes scanning his, fearing she'd made him uncomfortable. "Koa, don't worry. I'm not afraid of you. Your powers scared me a bit, but I will be fine. I know you do not hate me, and I'm glad you enjoy my company."
She pulled back just a bit and smiled at him, her eyes almost white now. She folded her front paws under her chest and curled her tail up around her hips. Her eyes moving over the male in front of her, a light smile on her face she lay still and waited for a response. [/blockquote]
