Between a Rock and a Hard Place - (open)

Amethyst

The young maiden stepped carefully across the stones, the pads on her feet barely making even a whisper of sound. It was very quiet here.

Amethyst had stumbled upon this place by pure chance, but she was glad that she had. Though she knew the Valley like the back of her paw, this was once place she rarely got the opportunity to explore. Her parents had never wanted her to stray too far into this labyrinth, for fear that they might lose her. But Amethyst knew no fear. She moved confidently across even the most unstable boulders, leaping from place to place like a fox.

The moss that covered these stones grew thicker as she wandered deeper into the unknown, but all she could think about was how it tickled her toes. The girl let out a soft giggle, which seemed to echo into the darkness beyond. For whatever reason, Amethyst finally realized how deep and mysterious the Stone Ruins really were. A trickle of fright began to slip into her veins, and she stopped walking. She carefully sat back on her haunches and waited.

For what? She casted a glance over her shoulder, but each rock looked exactly like the last. Was she really lost?

Tsuyoi had been haveing a strange time in this strange place and wasnt sure what to make of himself here.He had seemed to always stubble onto females that seemed very odd to him,but otherwise always beautiful and bold.

He was still young so he wasn't sure what to make of the ones he had came across so far,but had decided to keep travliing as he went.He had came across this mystery rock thing and had begain to go through what seemed to me a maze to him,but he was careful to make sure if tere was no way out that he could always turn around and come back the way he came he had left scratch amrks behind just incase he had to turn around and come back and had jumped from stone to stone as he went.

The father he went he would of sworn he had caught the scent of an other wolf not to far from him and he had glanced around slightly before he contuined forward."Must be an other female"He joked with himself as he contuined on he's way.It was a bit amazing trying to see this huge adnormal large male go across the rocks without slipping of falling off.Then again this place was magical so it was a strange mystery.

Amethyst stood, her legs trembling slightly as she turned and tried to exit from the way she came. After several minutes of this, she still couldn't tell where she was. This whole stretch of tunnels looked unfamiliar. And hadn't she turned that direction already? She was definitely lost now.

As she paced in a confusion through the rocky tunnels, she encountered a scent. At first this pushed her into a panic, because she thought that the scent was hers. That would've meant that she had traveled in circles... but no. This wolf was male. The trail was quite recent. She abandoned her attempt at escape and instead followed the smell of this strange new wolf. It wasn't a scent she'd encountered before.

Some wolves would have had a mind not to approach a complete stranger like this. But Amethyst could be naive at times, and though this was known to get her in trouble, it could also prove useful. In times like this, she assumed it was useful. If she could convince this wolf to help her, then maybe they could both find their way out of this place.

This possibility set the girl into a new sense of urgency. She was done exploring the Stone Ruins, in fact, they were starting to intimidate her. And Amethyst knew for a fact that she was not easily intimidated. She broke into a light run, keeping close to the trail of this young male. The smell grew ever stronger... suddenly he was there. Amethyst tried to stop as quickly as she could, but her paws slipped on a cluster of loose rocks and sent her flying into the boy. She tumbled into him and rolled for a few moments before regaining her balance. "I'm so sorry, I didn't see you there," the maiden said. Then she stepped away from him to get a better look. This male was very large, but he seemed to be younger than her, somehow. His coat and eyes were different shades of blue, reminding her of the many shades of the sky. "I don't think I've ever met you before. Are you from the valley?"

Tsuyoi had contuined travling the direction he was heading until what he had assumed to be correct had crashed into him from slipping on one of the rocks and had came tumbling into him.He groaned slightly after they had rolled a ways from where they wore before she had stepped away from him to get her balnce.He shook he's coat off slightly and looked up at her after the little slip had happened."Oh it's fine it's fine"He muttered to her slightly as he was still trying to regain himself he hadn't been expecting that and it kinda shook him up.He smirked to himself at the thought though when he looked up into the females eyes.~Of corse...your like some female rador~He joked with himself and then listened to her as she had asked him a question."Oh...no I a not from here I was just travling around new lands in hopes of maybe finding my own new home.Or just become a rouge"He said said to her softly."I have to say your very beautiful."He added as he adorded her different shades of purple.He even wondered if she was a vally wolf from how she was asking him if he was and he tilited he's head she had seemed lost for a vally wolf.Maybe it was a section she never been to before."So"He said after a minute."Strange place isn't it?"He asked her softly.

Her eyes changed as the boy spoke, his voice soft and surprisingly alluring. They had been holding a deep red for moments before, representing the fear she'd been experiencing. But when this male called her beautiful... her irises fell into an embarassed shade of baby pink. Amethyst felt her eyelashes flutter, and for a second she was at a loss for words.

This was strange. It's worth mentioning that Amethyst was not the kind of girl to usually be suseptible to this kind of flattery. For one, she almost never received such a compliment, especially not from a male. Most males she encountered were simply playmates, friends, nothing more. The girl felt no romantic connections whatsoever. This should have been no different.

And maybe it wasn't. She recovered, her eyes returning to their usual color - a light, cheerful yellow - and she smiled at the boy. "That's very sweet of you to say. Thank you," she whispered. "And yes, this is a strange place. My parents never liked letting me come here. Now I see why..." She came closer to him, offering her shoulder as balance whenever he decided to get to his feet.

"I'm Amethyst, by the way. What might I call you?"

Tsuyoi had accepted her shoulder as he had blanced himself to get into a better sitting position."Oh you very welcome.It isn't ever day I run into anyone that has bold colors like I do.My family is strange colors as well,but I never seen any other ones till now that wasn't something other then gray brown black or white."He admitted to her softly and nodded."Yes it is a maze indeed very challangeing.I have marked places to find my way out if I couldn't find it this way.I assume that has been your problem hasn't it?"He asked her softly."Nice to meet you Amethyst my name is Tsuyoi"He added to her."Maybe we could contuine together if you like"He offered.

Once the boy had gotten up, Amethyst settled onto the cool stone beside him. She listened with curiosity as he told her his name. "Tsuyoi? That's really unique - I like it."As Tsuyoi continued to speak, the yellow color in her eyes intensified. She was much happier now that she had company; especially when that company knew a way out of this place.

"I'd love to continue on with you. And I'm glad you're not lost. I hadn't thought of keeping track of my whereabouts... then again, that's probably why my parents never wanted me to explore here." With that, the maiden leapt to her feet and trotted in a quick circle around her new friend. "Which way shall we go first?" she chirped.

In truth, Amethyst didn't care which way they were going. She was just excited to explore with Tsuyoi. She waited patiently, tail flipping eagerly from side to side as she listened for the boy's reply.

Tsuyoi smiled at her when she seemed to like he's name"Thanks...my mother thought it suited me since it kinda mean big and blue ...which makes since"He said as he wagged he's tail slightly as she was getting excited and had trotted circles around him."Be careful now you don't want to slam into me again do you?'He asked her with a slight laugh.

He had looked around slightly before he had decided which way to go"We can go this way.And I can see your parents point this place is a very curious maze and if you don't know any better it is easy to get lost in here,but mistakes can happy"He said looking at her"Your just lucky I happened to be here as well.You must have some vally luck on your side"He teased her as he had motioned he's head to lead the way."Come on"He said egerly.

Tsuyoi seemed very friendly. Amethyst continued to grin at him until he spoke, his words causing her grin to burst into a peal of laughter. "Well, of course not. We wouldn't want that, would we?" she teased, bumping her nose against his side. "And as for the mistake I've made, I couldn't be happier. I made a new friend because of it!"

The girl followed obediently as Tsuyoi led them along through the Stone Ruins. Whether they were lost or not, Amethyst wasn't sure. But she didn't mind either way about it now. These dark tunnels were no longer frightening to her, now that she had a companion by her side.

"Um, Tsuyoi?" she began suddenly. "Which way are we going? You do know a way out, don't you?"

The tone with which these words were delivered betrayed their actual meaning. Amethyst wasn't concerned at all. Her words were direct and cheerful, which seemed to welcome even an answer of dissent.

Tsuyoi smiled at her."Well I am glad to hear it.I am also glad I have amde a friend out of it..and a very beautiful at that"He said as he winked at her playfully s he lead the way contuineing to scrack deep enough marks on the rocks as he went.

"Hmmm I am not certain of one really,but there ahs to be one...if not we can always go back the way we came.I like to try to finish what I started when I start something."He added softly."By the looks of the sun it looks like we are going east.The sun will be setting soon"He told her.

Again with the compliments. The maiden struggled keep her irises the same color, but in the end it was no use. The faint hue of embarassed pink crept into her eyes as if by its own will. "Excuse me for saying so, but it seems odd to say 'friend' and 'beautiful' in the same phrase." She gave the boy a shy grin and set to work putting down her own group of scratches.

"So Tsuyoi? I have a question..." Amethyst began. "What brought you to the Stone Ruins? Were you just exploring like me, or was there something more to it? You seem like you knew what you were in for when you came."

As Amethyst spoke, she finished dragging her claws along the stone. She was curious, but she also just wanted to make casual conversation and take the attention off of her so-called 'beauty'.

Tsuyoi smirked at her"You think so.I don't think it's odd.I wouldn't want to have an ugly friend now would i..and besides what if that friend turned to something more then a friend?"He asked her with a wink,but was of corse joking at the moment anyways.

"Hmm a question"He said when Amethyst had asked him."Well I never heard of it before and I am new to this world it looked mysterious and dangerious so I thought why not challenge myself why I am here"He said to her softly."So I would say exploring like you...then again there is an odd pull about this place"He added as he had contuined to elad the way and it seemed the farther they went the harder the terrian got.

Amethyst's smile didn't waver as Tsuyoi spoke. At first his words sounded shallow, and stereotypical for a male. As he continued, however, the meaning that lay beneath them started to flatter and confuse her almost simultaneously. What did he mean? They'd only just met. Was he suggesting something?

The girl stared in bewliderment as her friend provided only a wink as an explanation. "Don't take this the wrong way, but I really hope you're kidding." she laughed. The pink in her eyes burned with more intensity than ever. Which is why relief spread like a cool breeze through her body when he answered her question, thus changing the topic to a less embarassing one. "How nice. Exploring is always so much fun. And it's even better with company." she added. "I felt that pull too. It's called curiosity."

Tsuyoi looked at her as what he had said seemed to sink into her mind as he watched as she seemed to get nervious by what he had said,but he was joking.Somewhat anyways.He didn't mind finding a mate in this place,but he knew he might be to young for it.So right now a friend would be nice and then maybe something more serious when he got older.

"No no no....not that kind of pull"Tsuyoi had said to Amethyst when she had said it was curiosity"It's like someone has a grip on your fur and is pulling you towards a certain area.Not a.Hey what might be there kinda feeling,but a hmmm why am I being pulled here kinda feeling.It's really kinda creepy"He added and smiled at her slightly as he had rose he's head and looked around slightly as a weird smell had caught he's attention."Hmmm you smell that?"He asked her softly.

((thanks and I've been great just sooo busy lately and havent had much down time for posting))

Immediately after she offered her sentence about the curiosity of this place, Tsuyoi struck it down. That wasn't what he meant? She listened as he explained the feeling of literally being pulled here, without a choice. "That's definitely strange... I wonder what it could have meant." But no sooner had the girl mumbled these words that her companion seemed to go stiff, searching for some unknown smell on the air. When he asked if she smelled it too, she turned her head up and took a few deep breaths.

He was right. Something seemed... off. "What is that?" Amethyst wondered. "Another wolf? It smells like some sort of creature, but I think we're too far away to tell. Let's get closer!" And with that, Amethyst began trotting away toward the scent. Again, her naivete was getting the best of her. She wasn't thinking about the possible consequences of her actions, and besides, she already felt all too safe with Tsuyoi by her side.

But was he by her side now? Or was he being sensible and hanging back a little? That was the true question.

(I hear ya.I been exhausted from work.People keep quieting because there sick of the bullshit at work.Which I don't blame them.So what have ya been busy doing.Btw do you like to do fantasy roleplaying.)

Tsuyoi shook he's head"I don't know...,but probably some old spirit or something from around theses parts"He added as he kept walking.

"Yeah lets see what it is"He said,but he had slowed he's pace and had tried to mvoe as quiet as possable because the scent seemed a bit odd to him and soon enough they had came across the creature that the scent came from.

It was an other wolf it's wing's hand been hit by rocks and it was trapted where it was with it's wings pinned under heavy rocks.The wolf was laying on it's side looking as it was barely alive and was very skinny it looked like the wolf had been pinned there for weeks now.

The wolf had heard movement not able to move much from how weak it was,but it had snarled out at them angerly and hungerly.It was a lime green wolf with adarker under bellow and strange markings on it's legs and face.It had demon bat wings rather then fluffy wings and had a black ring around one of it's eyes.(Thought I would make a rouge more mean wolf.I might make he's tempalte and bio later though.)

(Post as it.I even made the carry.Now I have three boys and three girls.So it makes it even.Yeah I thought we needed conflict so I decided to make a carry for that reason.I been doing to many rps where it's just hi and what not with wlakign around and I wanted more conflict.Sorry if I been kinda blah I just been in a weird mood lately and stuff.I didn't want ya to think I was taking anything out at you ok? A new wolf? Amethyst's tail began to flip wildly from side to side, and in her excitement she again forgot to be cautious. In three quick leaps, she was in front of the new male, scrutinizing his fabulous coat. "Wow! You're more colorful than I am! Are you from around here?" Unfortunately, what the girl wasn't aware of was that not every stranger could turn out to be as friendly as Tsuyoi had been.

Hopefully her ignorance wouldn't end up being her downfall.

Toxic wasn't the soical type of wolf.He hated other wolfs and hated contact and when Amethyst had came closer to him about being excited about he's unusually colors would be a hint to most animals not to come near him he snapped out at her angerly.

Tsuyoi had snarled out at Toxic when he had did this,but figure that it was because he had been stuck under those rocks for some time now and hungr was pulling at him that he would consider anything a threat or food right now."Take it easy we want to help you get unstuck"He said to the male,but the male didn't listen as he snarled out at them angerly and struggled with the rocks to get at them.
