Where am I? the white wolf asked himself. He had been traveling for what seemed like days trying to get away from what was left of his pack. When his father, the alpha, was killed while hunting the argument arose as to who would take his place, in the end the argument only led to bloodshed. Before he could be pulled into the engagement he ran knowing all too well what would happen should he fight.
He stopped at the bank of the large river he had been following, remembering the last time he had fought. He shook his head as trying to rid himself of the memories. His white colored eyes darted over to the slow moving water next to him. As soon as he really noticed the water he realized he had not had any water since the morning and realized how thirsty he really was.
I really should stop getting lost in my thoughts. He said to himself half chuckling at the thought. He took the few steps between him and the river then began lapping up the cool water. As the water rushed to his empty stomach it made a cold tingling sensation go down his spine. After drinking his fill he dipped his paws in the water. With all the walking he had done it felt nice to finally relax and soak his paws. The cool waters felt good against his worn paws.
As the waters slowly rushed by he began to feel happy again if only for a bit. As the happiness returned to him he felt his fur began to change. What was once white now shifted into a bright golden yellow. As the fur change it felt as if his body was energized. He closed his eyes and as he opened them they turned the same bright golden yellow that his fur had turned to.I forgot what this felt like. He smiled to himself as he thought this, it had been a long time since he had felt happy. He stayed there for a while enjoying the water and the energy he now felt.
