Hello, everyone! It is my pleasure, with the revival of the site, to announce that there are finally some new IC boards for you guys to let loose in. Surprise! So here's the jist: the boards are in the Commons in a board called the Kaleidoscope. The place itself is a huge valley surrounded on all sides by ridiculously high mountains that are practically impossible to navigate. Only the toughest, most determined, best-prepared, thickest-furred wolfie would ever be able to make it through the most passable pass in summer. Seriously, any wolf who can accomplish the feat should get a medal and a recognition ceremony and a key to the city. But anyway, you suddenly have a very reasonable question: But Forte, you ask, how is my wimpy character supposed to get into the valley? Well, here's your answer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0 LOLOL. JK. Here it is for real: www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkJgl5SxtJQ
That's right, my pretties, there is a secret entrance to the valley. An underground tunnel hidden deep in the mountains of the montane forest. This tunnel is so long that it takes days to traverse and anyone who wants to should be prepared to arrive hungry, thirsty, physched out (from the darkness, silence and perhaps isolation) and maybe even a little bit insane. But no other tunnels cross it, so it's impossible to lose the true path. Due to the windiness (as in twistiness, not blusteriness) of the tunnel, and perhaps some magic, no one has yet been able to get through the tunnel without having their sense of direction completely screwed up, so no one knows exactly where the Kaleidoscope is. But no matter. If you can make it through the passage, which isn't too hard, aside from finding the entrance, you're basically set for life. Cause this place is a paradise.
Another question enters your excited brain: Why call it the Kaleidoscope? Haha, that's easy. It's because, in a relatively small area, there are TONS of different kinds of locations. The valley is roughly circular and is 50 miles long and 50 miles wide, but there are 17 IC locations, and due to the strong magic that permeates the valley, each one has a unique magical or otherwise cool and interesting quality. They're set up in a special way, too: There are five sub-boards: The Epicenter (the center of the valley and the spot from which all magic in it radiates) and the North, South, East, and West. But Forte, you said there were 17 locations and since ProBoards doesn't do sub-sub-boards, how's that gonna work? THAT'S THE FUN PART. In the North, South, East and West sub-boards there are four locations each that do not have separate areas. For example, you'd post a thread at Phoenix Springs in the same place as you would a thread at White Lake. Why? Well, my dears, I did this to encourage longer threads. My theory is that few people would end a thread at Phoenix Springs just to start a new one at White Lake that would actually be in the same exact board. Besides, it's not like they're far apart. To get from one location to another you only hafta go a couple of miles, whereas in the regular boards, realistically, you'd have to travel hundreds of miles between locations and sometimes thousands of miles between biomes to get the same variation. Soooo, yeah.
Two more things: Packs cannot be located in the K-Scope. It's kind of a loners' haven. AND there's a 300 word limit (maximum, not minimum) in IC posts to encourage stress-free posting of quick, concise and fluid replies. I'll be lenient with this rule around the beginnings of threads when you have to set the stage and when events are happening instead of just dialogue, but other times, seriously, just get it done quick so we don't have to wait!
HAVE FUN IN YOUR NEW BOARDS!
