In this place, the wind blew easily and the river flowed softly in the summer's heat. Above head the birds twittered softly, eager to chatter about their own lives to the world but hesitant to break the peace that passed through the world with a sigh. At snake river the water passed over the boulders with a quieted whush but beneath it's easy surface the currents were strong and chilled with the rivers own watery life force. Under the shade of the trees a small fae padded softly, her black fur streaked with deep red and her coat shiny and clean. While the patchy light that filtered through the branches played patterns on her fur her red-amber eyes remained bright and clear in the dim lighting.
Here Destra had come simply for a moment of relaxation, her muscles still taut with the galloping pace she had come out of moments before while crossing the plain. For her, even though the summer's breeze wreathed their chilled tendrils through the cooled and shaded trees that lined the bank, the sun still beat down on her dark fur, it was one of the few things that she had problems with herself. Although concealed in darkness the stench of sweat seeped through her skin as she padded into the shaded light of the river. Destra slipped her paws into the cool water and was slightly surprised by it's depth as it brushed her underbelly and she had to dig her claws into the hard gravel of the bank in order to stoop her muzzle to lap at the water. A contented sigh slipped from her maw as she licked her lips, gracefully dipping her head again to place her muzzle in the water for a moment before stepping back onto the more sturdy bank once more. A mixture of water and sweat flicked from her fur as she shook out her coat now graced with the cooling presence of water and at her simple happiness the wind picked up around her paws, swirling into her short fur and caressing her skin with it's cool air.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=width,400,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true] | [atrb=background,http://i.imm.io/eh3G.png] Kitara and Mokos made their way towards the sound of rushing water. They were both parched beyond believe, in desperate need of both water and something to cool them off. Hearing the rushing water of the Snake River, they both quickened their pace. Kitara was of course flying, only about two or three feet off the ground. Mokos was running beneath her, taking comfort in her shade.
I can't wait to feel the water! Mokos shouted up to Kitara. Kitara didn't reply. She didn't need to because at that moment, the river came into view. They slowed their pace and gently eased themselves into the water. Kitara had a hard time not getting dragged away by the current, dispite her magic usage. Mokos on the other hand was small enough that he didn't have to worry. They soon had their fill and went to the shore where they saw a wolf. A pretty wolf at that and one that they had failed to notice on their way in.
Hello. I'm sorry if we startled you. Kitara said with a slightly goofy grin. She really hadn't meant any harm, she was just so focused on getting to the water, she had failed to see anything else.

Along the river, many stale scents of wolves and creatures mingled, those who dined on blood and muscle and those who decided the cool green grass and leaves were much better suited for their stomachs. Together, they made their own forest of smells that greeted and tickled Destra's nose as she raised her muzzle from the water once more, shaking her black fur and sending droplets cascading from her fur and sparkling in the air where they hesitated for a moment before rippling the water's surface as they returned home. The fae sighed contentedly, for a moment simply living and being in the pleasantly humid forest along the snake river's bank. Then, two scents rushed out at Destra's senses, they thickened as they grew closer, the smells reaching her just before the sounds did, the steady and strong breeze of a large creature approaching on the wind and the quieter and more upbeat sound of small paws dashing across the peaty ground of the bank.
Destra's ears went back quickly as she backed from the river's bank, her tail twitching as it longed to tuck under neath her, her head lowered defensively as the noises grew louder and closer. The smells mingled together; fox and wolf, each one smelling of the other, their combined smells becoming thick and nearly unbearable as the two neared. The female felt them but had yet to see them when suddenly a large shape dove from the sky, body caressing the water as the new wolf landed in the rushing river, water pouring over her thick and beautiful white fur. quickly following suit, the small orange, brown, and white figure of the fox Destra had smelled bounded into the water after the wolf.
As they landed, curiosity wrapped itself around Destra' mind and her ears flicked forward, her paw stepping cautiously forward and her nose working hard to breathe in the two new canine's scents as the water splashed ashore with their movement. The two did not seem to notice her presence which was perfectly okay with her as she simply observed, the larger wolf who's fur was no longer white but instead seemed to shift hues and who had not simply one tail but two that waved out in the current and the small red fox beside her, it's red-orange fur stuck to the small creatures body as the two exited the rushing water, splattering water carelessly from their fur as they shook.
As they acknowledged her, Destra stood silent for a moment, her eyes fixated on the now solid wolf who had two tails and a pair of wings. " Good afternoon," her soft soprano voice rang musically when she found it, it's higher notes speckled with dark deep bass undertones, "No need to worry, I manged to get out quickly enough so as not to be landed on" she chuckled, a smile decorating her muzzle, she could understand their excitement over the river, it was a very hot afternoon as she had noted before on her own trek over to snake river.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=width,400,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true] | [atrb=background,http://i.imm.io/eh3G.png] Mokos smiled at the wolf and bowed. "Greetings," he said, looking up at his friend. She always looked vaguely redish purple to him, but it sometimes changed. Some days it was more of a green color, some days it was a brilliant orange or yellow. She was always full of surprises, especially when she got sick. Then her ability to control fire was a mite bit dangerous. She would sneeze fireballs. Completely by accident, of course, but dangerous all the same. Then there was her ability to fly without wings. A truly breath-taking sight and also a handy one. Mokos was just happy that he was light enough to be carried by her.
Kitara smiled down at Mokos before looking back to the wolf and giving her own bow. "Salutations," she said with her signature crooked grin. She didn't really think of the possibility that the wolf could be dangerous. Frankly, she didn't really care. She could defend herself if need be and so could Mokos. If the wolf proved to be too much, they would simply flee to the skies.

A sense of nervousness crept through Destra fur as she nodded back to Mokos, "hello" she murmured, caught in thought. Never before had she seen such a strange pair. Sure, she had heard a plethora of rumors on the wind but never had she witnessed the claimed oddities face to face. Yet, here standing in front of her was a wolf who shifted colors and could fly without wings with a fox for a companion. Air pushed at her paws, keeping her upright as everything tilted for a moment. When the wolf spoke, everything evened out and Destra shook her head to clear it, "Hello" she said again, not noticing for a moment that she was repeating herself, "Oh I apologize, I just said that didn't I?" she laughed slightly, a harsh sound edging the light noise.
Destra smiled lightly, if this wolf could fly without the assistance of wings, who knew what else she was capable of and with Destra's small size she didn't stand a chance if she managed to make the pair mad. However, they didn't seem the violent sort, just a pair of friends eager to escape the heat of the summer that roared through these parts. "My name is Destra" it was the best she could come up with, it seemed she was still slightly dumbfounded over these new strangers' entrance but still, she struggled to remain conversational instead of simply gawking at the two.

"You're even cuter from this angle," Kitara said with a goofy smile that looked even goofier upside down. Yawning, Kitara unknowingly showed off the small of her throat where a small flame sat which gave her her ability to cast fire. It was a blue-green in color and only about as small as a normal wolf's uvula.
Flipping right side up, Kitara began to circle the new wolf, checking her out. Mokos was quick to help the new girl out, however. I'm sorry about my friend here. She's very forward about what she likes. he said in an apologetic tone. He really didn't want this wolf to be offended that another female wolf was coming on to her, especially without knowing whether or not this new fae's orientation.

With a small squeak Destra hopped a step backwards, the smooth motion of Kitara’s spin upside down taking her by surprise along with her creeping proximity. The curiosity that blossomed towards the pear brought a hypnotic and overwhelming sense of intrigue into the wolf’s gaze, fixating on the eyes of the shifting floating wolf that grinned with what seemed was all humility and goodness laced with the humor found in the awkward stance Destra held. Kitara’s smooth and silky voice made Destra snap back, her ears falling back with a full-bodied embarrassment that manifested itself underneath her midnight dark fur as a burning heat that radiated out, ”Well- uh… um…” her voice stuttered, breaking slightly as it reached into a higher octave than she was supposed to speak in, her eyes flitted from side to side, Destra’s nervous nature spreading its wings in her fluttering chest. ”Thank you, You aren’t so bad yourself” she purred, her velveteen voice slithering from a toothy grin laced with all of the wickedly fascinated intentions of an extremely skilled vixen. A side that arose with the passing of nervousness as the fae would become comfortable with those around her, a sneaky snarky and teasing tone takes over her already smooth voice. Her eyes went sharp as the needle thorns that covered the brambles, her whole posture taking on a lax and languid nature that wove through her muscles. At the sight of the small blooming blue flame that hid itself in the back of Kitara’s throat her smiled widened, curiosity once more encasing Destra in its soft iron grip, she longed to know what else this fae’s fur hid, the abilities that slipped their way through her being interested her intensely; it was such a change to her simple minded symphonic oneness with the wind that brushed a blush through her fur, the cool breeze sending shivers down her spine and through to her toes. ”Oh I never mind such kind words” Destra’s voice dripped honey sweetness to Mokos for she wished to know more of the fox companion as well. What a strange pair they made, such a large wolf and such a small fox with Destra sizing only as a median between the two specimens that conveyed a powerful complication of perfection. ”What brought you two together?” the words slipped from her throat before she could hold her tongue, her tone a light and airy notion weighed down only by the immense intrigue that tied it down an intricate maze of signals, revealing nothing but good nature. words; 425 tagged; none notes; Danke Marie Anne :3 talkingthoughts
