Heya. I HAZ SUGGESTION. At the moment I was thinking the rainbow currency doesn't have much value. Unless I am completely blind and missing stuff staring me in the face, all you can do with it is buy IC items for your wolf, and get graphics. I never use IC items, because I can never seem to fit them in with my image of my character. And I'm a graphic artist myself, so I don't need to buy graphics. So I find myself staring at the rainbows in my profile, wondering what on Earth I should do with them. To this end, I am thinking there should be more that you can buy with rainbows. My first thought was perhaps, for an appropriately large amount of rainbows, being able to buy permission to make a non-wolf character? I have seen people wanting to do this before, and I think so long as it cost enough to be rare, it wouldn't damage the site. This is just a suggestion from your friendly minion though There could be a sliding-scale cost, with things not that different from wolves (such as dogs or foxes) costing smaller amounts, whereas creating a, I don't know, spider or squirrel or wren would cost a bit more, and creating a dangerous predator or really exotic animal eg. lion, giraffe, hawk would cost very, very much / not be allowed because of godmoding risk, or the animal not existing in North America. There is so much that is free and encouraged on this site (which is a good thing ) that there is not as much currency can be used for. But, I feel it can still have a slightly more important role than it currently does, ie. as far as I'm concerned, sitting around in my profile looking not-very-impressive. I hope this idea gets the go-forward, and other staff can suggest other things that could be bought

That is actually a fantastic idea! Thank you. ;D I've been meaning to figure out something more to do with rainbows for a long time, never getting around to it. You are totally awesome, Accalia. I'm on board 100%...and since I don't think anyone else will have a problem with it, I'll make the announcement right now!
I'm also going to make this thread an announcement so that anyone else who has ideas for more uses of rainbows can contribute.

have a place were if we get someone to help us to a pic of the said wolf to transfer our rainbows to so we know that the person whom did the job gets paid. Like a bank and a transfer your rainbows to person # or id
as of right now I have no idea how I can pay KaiNauium for all of there hard work they have done with each of the wolves she has done and would like to pay them
it is just idea but if it goes though I am so behind it.

I think codes like that aren't even allowed to be requested in Support because they're so complex. To pay someone for a service all you can really do is let me know so I can change your rainbows.

I agree as well, this is a really good idea c: and on the same subject what about being able to buy OOC items? Like a colored username or personal text under your avatar?

Well, personal text is already an option in your profile, so you don't have to buy it. But colored names would be good, and help perpetuate the site's colorful motif.

You can actually get a code off WormoCodes which allows for rainbow names, which I think is eternally cool.
You can put your own Personal Text, but I think Monday means Custom Title, or whatever it's called...

Oh, yeah. A custom title when you reach a certain amount of posts...

I think being able to buy a colored name and/or custom title would be awesome!
I also have a suggestion, I'v been on other sites that do this and it's really handing. Being able to buy sub boards, usually in the character tracker board, but sometimes I whole separate board is set up just for the sub boards. The sub board could be used by the person who bought it for what ever, but they're usually used to store little plot and character ideas you have but don't want to use yet, or have more space to keep track of your characters, whatever they want really. I find it's really handy, and I would definitely save up to buy something like that.
Edit: Sorry if my explanation was confusing :b

If Forte agrees, I can quite easily set up rainbow names. You could buy them for a certain price, and identify the colours. More than 2 colours would be complicated, so I'd stick with 2. So, you would post in a 'shop' thread with the 2 colours, pay the necessary rainbows, and the name would be changed using the code. So for instance, if you asked for red and yellow, then the rainbows would be deducted, and we could use the code to make the first letter of your name yellow, the last letter red, and all the other letters be in between.
On a lot of sites, staff have differently coloured names to differentiate them, or each different pack has a colour, with the members with characters in that pack having their names in that colour. But Spectrum doesn't really do this, I don't think, so there is definitely room for fun colourful names.

Cool! I was thinking you would do the code where you can alternate colors so it would go like red blue red blue and look like this: Valitrix

Accalia! You're my coder. Do this colorful name thing for me. xD
As for the extra sub-boards, Val, I really think that the plotting and character tracker boards are enough room...It's not like all you can post in Character Tracker is their profiles, after all. You can of course post plot ideas there, too. Would anyone else be interested in a sub-board for characters and plots and stuff like that?

I've always wanted a rainbow name... ^_^ MWAHAHA! *new goal in life!*
Keeping to the theme of 'colorful names,' for every member group you move up, you could get the option of adding a color to your name. Staff Members would automatically get a set amount of colors. For instance, I have 3 stars up there ^--, so I would have 2 or 3 colors to my name. That way members, especially new members, would be more motivated to post, to get more colors, and more cool rainbows for more cool stuff. I suggest 2 colors when you have 3 stars, because you start out with 1 star when you join the site. Or, of course, we have the option of different colors for different member groups. The member groups, in this case, may be packs. This does complicate things, though. When members get colors, they need to get colors that all stick the theme of their pack. I.E.: different shades of orange, blue, green, black/gray/white, red, etcetera etcetera.
Also, Member Titles are very sought after and would make a great prize for an OTM, as well. Prizes for OTMs motivate all members, staff and all, to post more and post well. There are infinite amounts of potential prizes, so this isn't limited to colors or Member Titles.

I did the colourful name thing for you If you want different colours, Forte, let me know. I used you as my guinea pig. Sorry. I'm gonna do free ones for the staff. SOMEBODY has to be guinea pig. Then people can buy them add them to the shop! Oh, and while I was at it, I enabled coloursmear in posts. It's from WormoCodes... basically, you can now do THIS; [smear:00b2d1]Hello my name is Accalia[/smear:9b00cf] Oh, and originally I was going to suggest member group based on pack as well, but that doesn't really work on Spectrum, since one account can have multiple characters in different sites. It works beautifully on one-character-one-account sites, but Spectrum's not one of those.
