name - Acantha, nicknamed 'Canthie' (OOCly, and ICly if your wolf has a deathwish)
age - 3 / 4056 (see Other)
gender - Female
species - Wolf
build - Acantha is pretty regularly proportioned. She's slim and medium-sized. In build, then, she looks pretty normal.
coat - Acantha looks like nature went psychotic creating her. Her fur is electric blue, with pastel yellow paws and tail-tip, rainbow stripes around her legs, and a blaze of neon green up her muzzle. Across her chest and down her flanks is a jagged stripe of red with yellow flecks around it, ending in a swirl of red and yellow on her hindquarters. She has four tails, each the same electric blue fading to light grey-blue on the end. A line of spikes runs from her forehead, down her back, and along the tops of her tails. A stripe runs down the side of each tail, with a different colour for each one; royal purple, royal blue, white, black. Her underbelly is yellow with red flecks. Her ears are tufted with rainbow fur which always seems to be sparking crazily.
eyes - Her eyes are glowing, one silver, one gold. They are oddly shaped, looking more like a frog's eyes than a wolf's. She has dark blue pupils instead of black. Incidentally, her night vision is excellent.
mutations - Well, for one, her pelt is.... what's the word? Unusual? Vivid? Quirky?
And, of course, she has her line of spikes, running from her forehead down to the tip of her tails, and the fact that she has four tails, and also did I mention sparks coming off the tufts of her ears (especially when she feels strong emotion)? And don't forget those giant fangs, or the colour-changing butterfly wings on her feet...
magic - Acantha has the power of naming. If she understands a thing inherently, she can guess its true name. If she gets this right, she can use the true name to control the thing. Guessing is very hard, however - currently she only knows the name of the wind, the name of eagle, the name of iluos, and her own name. She knew Anna's name, before Anna died.
She can also turn into any animal form whose name she knows, although her insane colours are transferred onto whatever it is she turns into. She cannot remain in any form other than her own for more than an hour.
other - Acantha wasn't always quite as... different... as she is. When she was born, Acantha was a dull grey wolf with blue eyes, no magic, and no mutations. She was in a secure family-based pack without too much strife, and had a pretty normal life; not altogether peaceful, but not tragic and dark either. She was in a few fights, grew up to be normal, had a father and mother, and so on.
Then one day, on a hunt, Acantha found a creature. It was small, and furry, and helpless. Acantha couldn't help but take it in and care for it, though she kept it secret from the other pack members. Good thing she did - it was a mythical creature called an iluos, common in the area, although rarely seen anywhere else. They were universally hated for their power, and inclination, to steal wolves' hearts. Those who touched them once could never leave their side. They fell in love. True, the iluos-wolf team was powerful, and many chose to stay with the wolf's pack and defend it; but other wolves ran away from their packs with the iluos. It usually happened to younger wolves, and enough cubs had been lost for the packs to hate the creatures.
The iluosi and wolves can form special telepathic bonds when they grow to care for each other, and Acantha eventually gained one of these with her friend the iluos, who she had named Estella, and who by now was a fully-grown creature; big as a bear, flame-red in colour, with the shape of a lion and the scales of a snake and the ability to breathe fire. However, unlike most, whose love for the iluos overwhelmed their young spirits and made them serve the creature, Acantha's iluos, Anna, was young. She should not have been in a bond, but Anna had wandered from her mother's nest. Instead of forcing Acantha to serve her, Anna befriended the wolf. They left Acantha's pack and wandered the land. Iluos have many magical powers, and they confer on their bonded wolves some... odd characteristics. Acantha's pelt went insane, she grew four tails and spikes and fangs, and she gained her magic powers. She also has eternal youth; she will never age beyond the age of 3, though she is around 4056 years old now.
The two fought an evil enemy that was poised to destroy the packs of the area, a horde of deadly monsters, and persuaded some bonded iluos to let their bonded wolves go, or become friends with them rather than enslaving them. They were heroes in the area.
Then Anna died. Robbed of her companion and lifelong friend, who meant more to her than any family member or lover, Acantha fled the area, coming to Central America with the help of friends. Having made it here, she broke down and went slightly insane for a time, before being revived and nursed back to health by a pack in Central America. However, Acantha could not bear the thought of being in a social situation like a pack, forced to reside with wolves like she had once been, so she left for North America.
Acantha cannot fly, but due to the wings on her feet, she is able to hover if she launches herself off somewhere high, and is able to jump very high.
