name - Corin.
It's a French name that comes from the Latin Quirinus, which means spear and possibly has some connection to the Roman god Mars. I like it.
age - Nine, but his maturity and size is that of a cub six months old.
gender - Male
species - Wolf
build - Corin is small and slight. Though he is nine, his body is the size of a wolf six moons old (see other). His body is quite angular, with a kinked tail and crooked smile.
coat - Corin's coat is a dark green, dappled and mottled with greys and browns. It is built for camouflage - he needs it, as he is young in mind and body, but his parents (like all of his breed) refuse to support him for nine whole years, so have already chucked him out. His fur is rough and rugged, not sleek, and somewhat tangled. He spends most of his life looking as though he's been dragged through a hedge backwards and then in a big punch-up.
The underside of his coat is dappled blue and white, as this is the part another wolf would see if he was flying above them. When he needs camouflage on the ground, he tends to crouch down, leaving only the green and brown colours visible.
eyes - Corin's eyes are dark and knowing, the only clue that he is older than he seems. They are a deep brown colour. He tends to be a cheerful wolf and there is a glint of humour in them.
mutations - Corin has large wings, dappled with green and grey like the rest of his coat. On the underside, they are light blue, mottled with wispy threads of white - this is the part wolves would see if he was flying, so they need to be that colour for camouflage.
magic - Corin believes he has no true magic. However, many wolves would disagree; his level of stealth is incredible. He puts it down to camouflage and nine years' practise, but the psychological effects of having a young wolf melt out of a shadow before you can often lead people to believe it is magic. Nobody's entirely sure; maybe there is a touch of magic in his skill, maybe not.
He also has unusually finely tuned senses; his sight and hearing are sharp, and he has a bit of a sixth sense, a prickling feeling when he's being watched or when danger is near. He puts this down to luck and lupine instincts, but again, nobody's really sure.
other - Corin comes from a strange breed of long-lived wolf, which is also where he gets his strange coat. In most aspects normal wolves, these wolves age very slowly. Most live for hundreds of years. The price they pay is that they aren't immortal - their lives are just stretched out. This means that they remain cubs until they are almost sixteen years old, and they are not considered fully mature adults until well into their thirties. Though he is nine, his mind and body is that of a wolf around six months old. He has a nine-year-old's experience and skills but none of their maturity or intelligence, and his body is still small and weak.
Obviously, his parents aren't spending sixteen years of their lives looking after him, so they chucked him out at nine, confident that some pack somewhere would take him in. He already had three older sister, so they weren't worried about continuing their line, and in their society more than one litter is considered an unnecessary burden. He had two siblings, a brother and a sister, but he doesn't know where they are and has no close connection to them.
