Hello! I am Olivia Hamel, and I just could not resist joining your site. It looks so good :3 Here is a little bit about myself: I am an author, and the admin of my series' official site The Druid and the Wolf Official Website and I really enjoy writing... a lot! I've decided to bring my main character Sascha ( from the series ) to the site! I have given her magical powers though, which she doesn't have outside of Spectrum. I also like to draw, but my evil ex-stepfather misplaced my pen and now I have to order another one :/ I also have an official YouTube channel: OliviaHamelBooks

Oooh wow, an author? That's really impressive <3 All I have is an agent offering on my (unfinished) book. It feels like such a long road and it's really inspirational to see other RPers who have done it. Welcome to the site, it's great to have you here!

Oh awesome! It's great to see other people have books ( finished or not ). Seems like not many people do. But I published through CreateSpace, which is a self-publishing company by Amazon. I'm looking for a real contract sometime soon.
Thanks for welcoming me to this wonderful site!

Thought I'd post here as the introductions thing-y is Locked. I'm Nom, but the official web name I use is Firrow. Nom was a nickname given to me by someone when I first started roleplaying 4 years ago. I'm 14 (cuz we all lied about our age to get on some she site or another, so that's what I did in the beginning) XD They'll never know....
Anyway, I'm trying to write a novel right now actually. I'm just stuck editing the first few chapters... Just thought I'd put that out there as so many RPers nowadays have novels. It wasn't very popular when I first started. Then again, most of the kids I was RPing with ranged from ages 10-13.
I feel that RPing has actually helped me grown as a writer. I went from three sentences with poor grammar (but I've always been able to spell really well, so that wasn't really a problem) to what I do now, near essays with each post.(I'm not just bragging [cuz my friends tell me I'm self-centered ;P ] I showed a piece to one of my English teachers and he told me it was a level of writing years ahead of my age...) I guess it's just easier to write on RPs. I tried to stop because it was afflicting the quality of homework I was handing in (I can get addicted) but then almost immediately my level of writing went down and I found it harder to write for longer periods of time.
I hope that this RP may help. It doesn't look like I'll have to post mountains of work which describes how my character drank from the stream and did nothing else, and yet I won't be posting back replies to one or two liners. (probably the most annoying as it's so hard to get a good reply out of them) Besides, I live in England and it's going to be a rainy summer so I can't really do much else with my time... XD
Anyway, gonna go ramble somewhere else... Au revoir!

Welcome! I hope you have a really random llama-filled crazy seriously weird enjoyable time at Spectrum and you never ever leave and we get to keep you forever and lock you in a small room with fluffy bunnies. When I first started RPing I was eight, but I started on a Webs site, not a ProBoards one, so there was never a problem with my age. Although my mum would still kill me if she ever knew that I go on anything other than the kind of official book boards where every two-word post takes three days to get approved. When I first started writing my novel I was stuck on the same problem. I couldn't get past the third chapter, all I could do was edit and edit and edit because I wanted it to be PERFECT. XD My advice is, don't let yourself edit any chapter more than twice, just get on and get your first draft done, then edit it afterwards. You can spend months bogged down in editing, I think it's the main reason why most good writers never get published. D: RPing has definitely helped me, too. I've always been able to write with good grammar, but RPing taught me the very important lesson that perfect characters are no fun, and my first RP was a chat RP - the kind where *jumps around squealing* counts as a normal-sized post - which although is often seen as 'beginner', and doesn't help at all with your actual prose, taught me how to weave complicated plots without getting mega-confused, and develop characters. One of the most educational experiences I've had was on a 'beginner' chat Warriors RP, where one of my characters had a prophecy that I wouldn't reveal, and she received line by line over several months. Dropping enough hints to keep people interested, but not enough for them to guess, is an exercise in subtlety and rawr why can't I spell subtlety at two hours past my bedtime. Spell Check. Subtlety. I really like Spectrum myself. At the moment I'm doing (and running) a few more hard-core, experienced RPs, so Spectrum's a really good place to relax and basically take a load of the pressure off whilst still having loads of really good RP partners. Urgh, I know exactly what you're talking about with the rainy summer. Hi-five for English people! <3 (On so many sites... there are only Americans... And they spell colour differently... And it annoys me for some reason I can't quite put my finger on.) Some of my other friends are passing around a meme that goes 'In the Bible it says it rained for 40 days and nights and they called it a disaster... In England, we call that summer!" I was planning to spend my summer running and training to get fit for a couple of judo competitions I have coming up, but first my broken collarbone, and now the rain, is getting in the way. Au revoir, mon noveaux amie. ~the crazy one who hides in the corner and steals your socks

Nom. You just described me at age 14. Legit.
I've finished a few novels, written innumerable fanfictions, and am member to so many RP sites I can't even keep track of them. This is your future.
Anyway, welcome to Olivia! I checked out your youtube channel and it is admittedly impressive.
And welcome to Nom! I expect great things from you.

Accalia, noooooo! Not small fluffy bunnies! Hi! Thanks for the advice on llama's writing. (sorry had to do the strike thru thing, it looked so fun! ) I will try to write some more when I go back to school in September (as I've just realized I left all of it at school... DX ) I've never participated in a chat RP before, although something tells me that I would either love it or hate it. Also, I understand what it's like. Sometimes you just get too much to reply to, and it's nice just to have a relaxing site where no one is too pushy. It was like that for me during school. I was part of four hard core RPs and I was creating my own site. I dropped first two, and I shut down my own site, but it didn't matter, it was just too much. I dropped a third one, and then, I just gave up. It was too tiring and it was affecting the quality if my homework, something my parents didn't agree with. I tried going back but three of the sites had already shut down and one was in the process of doing so, so I followed a link here. I now RP here and another site, which is much more manageable especially in my free time. Hope your collarbone feels better and we get some decent sunshine! KaiNaium, really, I did? Also I do hope that's my future because I do really want to be published! You sound a bit like Yoda when you say that you expect great things from me. I will use the force well master and finish my novel next term...

Ahahaha, we shall all publish our books at the same time and buy each other's. Nooooo you shall not grow up to be like Kai I must train all the new recruits to be clones of MEEEEE and take over the wooooooorld which means you must learn coding and spend your life editing pictures of ducks. I probably ought to shut down my own site, since I don't think there have been any replies on it for a month, but I haven't the heart. XD I used to pick up and drop RPs quite fast deliberately. I would go to a new-ish site, spend some time making tables for people, do a couple of threads, make some friends and then run off to the next site. I was hoping to help a lot of sites get started with activity and things, and I liked the nomadic way of always seeing new things and meeting new people. That was originally why I came to Spectrum, and then it turned out to be too awesome to leave, so I'm now a permanent nuisance here, I'm afraid... It's really quite awesome to be with a site since 2 months after its creation, and watch it grow bigger and get awesomer. I've settled down while I've been here and now I've got more permanent sites. That is the really annoying thing - you go back to sites to see old friends, and they've shut down. I don't believe in shutting sites down - I think if admins are tired of their sites, they should get friends or other staff to take over for them, instead of ruining it for everybody else who was on the site. Sunshine? Here's to hoping. In vain. But hoping.

In this battle of...um...clones, I guess. *cough cough* Star Wars Reference *cough* I will be a clone of Accalia no, a clone of KaiNaium wait! An individual.... FOREVER ALONE Also, yes, I guess they should pass the leadership on, but a lot of times it isn't always easy, or the site is dying anyway because of low activity and such. So it really depends. Some sites are forced to shut down because of their site "violating' Proboards terms of service, usually caused by one member or a small band.

Hai guyssssss! I'm crywulf, you can call me cry. I'm female, and live down under. I am 13, and have been roleplaying.. hmm, since ten or so? Heheh, can't remember I have two cats, three chickens and some fish, but absolutely love animals, especially dogs <3 I collect animal skulls and furs as well and enjoy taxidermy. I also draw, but aren't the best at it XDDD Ooh, my icon is Phantom, my wolf fursona. I drew him a while ago, and he's also my skype avatar. Yah, that's pretty much all. LOL

Yay! New member! I will take this as an opportunity to ramble..... I have a cat, a dog, six chickens, and two rabbits. My avatar is supposed to represent my feminist wolfie Sora. I be 14 as that is an awesome number (and coincidently my favourite )! I am a minion of KaiNaium up there, with all Kai's beautiful graphics which describe Kai's level of epicness at having me as a minion. I like to spend my time acting and writing, although I can draw OK as well.... Feel free to start up any RP with me at any time! @kai, the graphic that looks like Napoleon Dynamites brother made me laugh as I could hear his voice in my head XD "Yessss.." lol so much. Glad you're happy! @accalia, but I love cookies!! NOOOOOO!!!!!! *falls to knees and cries while it rains*

Kai has cool pictures of Spongebob yodelling, but I have cookies.
